Tirso Silvano Cruz in real life, he was born on April 1, 1952 and considered as one of the legendary actors in the field of Filipino entertainment. His marriage to Lyn Ynchausti-Cruz bore with them three beautiful children, two boys and a daughter namely TJ, Bodgie and Djanin respectively. His nephews are also equally famous, proving the Cruzes are born with the much given talent in singing and acting. They are Sheryl Cruz, Sunshine Cruz, Geneva and Donna Cruz who have also their share of abilities to prove their worth in the showbiz world.
Tirso Cruz started his career as the superstar Nora Aunor’s love team in happier days in early 70’s. He has a pet name “Pip,” who was famously associated with the “Guy and Pip” tandem which was considered the Philippine’s most celebrated in the history of Philippine cinema. He was formerly managed by Douglas Quijano who made sure he will be successful in pursuing his acting career. Tirso and Nora starred in countless movie hits such as “My Little Brown Girl,” “Together Again,” “Young Love,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” among others.

At the 22nd PMPC Awards for Television, he received the Best Drama Actor trophy for his exceptional role in “Kaputol ng Isang Awit.” In 1997, “Valiente” won him another Best Drama Actor Award from the PMPC Star Awards for Television. Indeed, these awards from the different award giving bodies became an inspiration for Tirso Cruz to still improve his craft and continue to learn and do his best to any role he is requested.
Recently, he had participations in ABS-CBN’s Teleserye “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw,” as Rodrigo Manrique. He is also included in “Huwag ka lang Mawawala,” a newly launched Teleserye starring Judy Ann Santos.
