Carlos was also famously called the “Prince of Philippine Rap,” where he encountered negative criticisms by old time rappers. Carlos felt he was insulted because there are lyrics in the rap songs of Loonie D-Coy that talks about Carlos negatively. It was also rumored that Carlos filed a suit in this connection but later agreed about settlements. Carlos has two brothers namely Aaron and Michael who are also singers like him. Aaron released his album entitled “Right Next to Me,” in 2006 under the management of Universal Records and Michael was in “Qpids,” a reality loveteam search in TV5. Later, Michael met Cherry Lou and eventually married her.

He was only a third year high school at OB Montessori when a talent manager approached him if he is interested to do some print ads modeling. He politely declined because still at a young age, he was not really aware what modeling career is all about. They met in a hangout called Fridays’, one of their favorite hangouts. Again, Carlos and Rapi Revilla, the talent manager who owns a commercial talent agency, met and for the fifth time, Carlos gave modeling a try. It was a 4 hour photo shoot and he was given a talent fee in the amount of P8, 000.00. The opportunity opened doors for him to do more commercials and modeling, and by the time he was 16 years old, he was already endorsing the brand “Bench” in the international market.

Carlos had this passion for singing, as heard in his first rap album entitled “Amir of Rap,” which has the carrier single ‘Magpakatoto ka.” Amir is a nickname which means Prince, which is fondly used by close friends and family to call Carlos. Carlos personality traits reflect that of a happy and contented person. He was involved in a drug campaign against drugs in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines together with his friends to express his concern to the youth sector of the community.

His hobbies include playing tennis, basketball, bowling, and when time allows, he sees to it he spends quality time with his brothers just malling around, watching movies or listening to hip-hop music.
