Eric Quizon Biography

Eric Quizon is Enrico Smith Quizon. He is a Filipino actor, director, entrepreneur, actor, writer and producer in the field of Philippine movie and television industry. He was born on January 20, 1967 to parents’ comedy king Dolphy and Pamela Ponti. He is the second of four sons and had brothers Jeffrey Quizon, who is also an actor, TV host, and an artist. His other half-siblings include Dolphy Jr., Freddie (deceased), Vandolph, Zia and Nicole. Eric is actually the 10th child of Dolphy in the Quizon clan.

Eric had admitted that his being a son of Dolphy made it easier for him to go around the movie industry and business, but he stated that he had already proved his worth and credit that he had easily shy away from his’ father’s shadows. When he was still a young boy, people around would tag him as ‘son out of wedlock’ and would usually be hurt and disappointed. But as he grew older and wiser, he had learned to accept it and be proud of being Dolphy’s son. He says, what others think doesn’t matter anymore because Dolphy acknowledges them all as his children.

Eric looks almost the same as his Dad in physical aspects, but he deeply believed that he had also followed his father’s footsteps in terms of being generous and compassionate. He always wanted to help other people in whatever way he can without expecting something in return. Another advice he got from his father, is that you should never pretend somebody you are not. It is good to let people the real you so that they can accept whoever you are. Eric learns to be just thankful for all the blessings and opportunities that come his way. He allows God to take over his decisions and life.

His movies include ”Dobol Trobol; Let’s Get Redi 2 Rambol,” “Bahay Kubo; A Pinoy Mano Po,” “Hide and Seek,” “Hollywood Dream,” “Quizon Avenue,” “So Happy Together,” “I Will Survive,” ‘Crying Ladies,” “Mano Po,”and “Markova.” Recently, he and brother Epi went to the U.S. where the book about Dolphy’s biography entitled “Hindi ko Ito Narating Mag-Isa,” are being sold. The family was manning a small booth at the 1st San Francisco Fil-Am Book Fair. The proceeds of which will go to the Dolphy Aid Para Sa Pinoy Foundation for the scholarships to deserving OFW children. Presently, the foundation has 10 scholars.
