Herbert Bautista Biography
From 1986 to 1989, he was President of the Barangay National Federation, appointed ex-officio City Councilor representing the Youth sector of Quezon City.From 1192 to 1995, he was elected Councilor of Quezon City and Chairperson of the Committee of Tourism and Cultural Affairs of Quezon City. The Youngest Vice Mayor of Quezon City elected on May 1995.
2001, 2004 and 2007 - After he lost for the Mayor seat to Ismael Mathay, Jr., Hubert was elected thrice as City Vice-Mayor in 2001, 2004 and 2007. In 2010 he won the Mayor seat in a landslide victory and took his oath on July 1, 2010.
He is among the youngest city officials in the country. He had a long track of fruitful experience in the government office and the youth movement. He is at present a Board of Director for YMCA-QC, INc., member of the Rotary Club of Kamuning, founding president of Association of Graduate Students and Alumni of the UP College of Public Administration in Diliman, board of director for the KAPPT - Katipunan ng mga Artista sa Pelikulang Pilipino at Telebisyon and a member of the Philippine Constitution Institution. Part of his achievement is the QC Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center of "Tahanan" which was founded in 1990 with a purpose to serve drug dependents through Therapeutic Community Program.
Before his political venture, he was active in movies portraying roles as a comedian and dramatic actor. He was first seen on TV at RPN-9 being the brother of Flordeluna which was played by Janice de Belen. He also appeared in a number of movies and TV shows. To name a few are Bagets, Hotshots, Shake Rattle & Roll, Jack & Jill, Jack & Jill sa Amerika and the most recent Shake, Rattle & Roll 14 in 2012.
