Shaina Magdayao Believes The Key To Moving On Is Acceptance

For actress Shaina Magdayao, last year wasn't such a good period in her life. But 2013 is looking brighter for the young actress since she has finally allowed herself to move on from the heartaches of the past year.

The best thing about her life now, Magdayao said, is she feels more grateful than ever to her family and friends who stood by her through the tough times. She said that every day, life gives her a reason to smile and be thankful.

So far, 2013 has been good to her, she said.

Last year, Magdayao took a solo trip to Europe to find herself. During the trip, she realized how blessed she is to be surrounded by people who believe in and support her.

“Yung buhay ko noon and the people around me, mas naa-appreciate ko. So, yun, punung-puno lang po ng gratefulness and siyempre, mas exciting ang buhay ko ngayon.”

Looking back, Magdayao said it was "acceptance" that finally allowed her to let go of what happened. She and ex-boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz were involved in nasty rumors last year before finally calling it off a couple of months later.

The actress was also reportedly very jealous of Cruz's "friendship" with beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez, who the actor dated for quite a while before Magdayao.

“Life happens, e. At saka, ang pinakaimportante lang naman, tanggapin mo at matuto ka. Ang dami ko rin namang natutunan kung ano ang nangyari dati." And yet, Magdayao said she wouldn't be able to move on without the help of her family and friends--particularly Iya Villania, Nikki Gil and Bea Alonzo.

The actress said she's definitely more mature now for her age.

Magdayao is currently promoting her film with Toni Gonzaga, Alonzo, Angel Locsin and Enchong Dee entitled "Four Sisters And A Wedding."

She revealed that she can relate to her character in the story because she also has older sisters, one of which is singer Vina Morales.

Magdayao said all Filipinos can relate to the story because it's basically about family. She feels proud to be part of that kind of movie, she added.
