Anabelle Rama Says It Wasn’t Her Fault That JC De Vera Failed To Be A Big StarLast week, JC de Vera revealed that he has asked his talent manager Anabelle Rama to give him two months to three months to think over his talent management contract with her. In an interview, de Vera said he is starting to look at long-term plans regarding his career. He also expressed his goal to take a bigger responsibility when it comes to handling and planning his own showbiz career.
Now, Rama is breaking her silence about this issue with one of her wards. The controversial talent manager confirmed that she and de Vera are parting ways as manager and talent. She disclosed that they are parting amicably. In an interview with some selected showbiz reporters, Rama reiterated that she has no regrets handling de Vera.
She added that their professional relationship had flowed smoothly for the last 10 years. Rama remains all-praises when describing her former talent. She emphasized that de Vera has always been nice and obedient to her. She was happy that he did not give her any major problem during the duration of their talent-manager relationship.
Giving up on his career
But Rama expressed disappointment about how de Vera’s career has been unfolding lately. She revealed that it was TV5 that decided not to renew de Vera’s contract with the network. Rama admitted that she could not do anything about it since it was the network that decides over renewal of contracts.
She added that it was de Vera who demanded a guaranteed contract from TV5. Rama disclosed that her former talent thought he deserved such a contract and that he needs to make sure his income would flow regularly because he has numerous financial responsibilities to shoulder.
‘Get another manager’
This was the factor that made Rama give up on de Vera. She recalled that during her recent meeting with de Vera, she advised him to get another talent manager because she could no longer help him. She thinks de Vera might find better luck in another talent manager.
Rama strongly believes that she has done everything she could to help de Vera’s career. She recalls how she was able to help him get good projects that enabled him to get roles in comedy, drama, and action. But she admits that nothing happened. She thinks she has done her part so she is not to be blamed if de Vera’s career did not take off.
There have been rumors that de Vera has been sending feelers to GMA-7 that he wants to return to the network that used to groom him as the next leading man. But this was denied by the Kapatid star in his interview last week. He has consistently reiterated that his loyalty remains with TV5. He did not disclose that TV5 decided not to renew his contract but he implied that he is taking time to re-consider the network’s offer for renewal.
De Vera is currently visible in TV5’s primetime series ‘Cassandra: Warrior Angel.’ He has taken a supporting role to a starlet. He is also part of the cast of a forgettable gag show in the same station.
