Ryan Bang, Mom Turn Emotional On It’s ShowtimeRyan Bang and his mother ended up with teary eyes as the host celebrated his birthday on stage during an episode of “It’s Showtime.”
The host was with his mother when asked what would be his wish for his 22nd birthday which he will celebrate on June 16.
He revealed, in a visibly emotional moment, that he wished he and his mother were living in the same house.
Speaking in Korean and later translating for the people, Bang said “Ang wish ko sana sabay tayo nakatira sa iisang [bahay].”
His mother flew from Korea to personally greet Bang on his birthday. Bang credits his rise to fame in the Philippines after a stint inside the Pinoy Big Brother house. He is now a mainstay of “It’s Showtime.” He also stars in the show “Banana Split.”
Nonetheless, Bang told his mother that she should not worry about her son.
“Pero huwag ka mag-alala, nandito ang pamilya ko, nandito 'yung nanay ko, nandito 'yung mga kuya ko, at ang lolo ko,” he said, joking that co-host Kim Atienza is his grandfather.
When his mother was asked what her message to his son’s fans and colleagues is, Bang said his mother said in Korean: “Maraming salamat sa inyo, madlang people, sa Philippines, sa mga Pilipino na nagmamahal [kay Ryan]. At maraming salamat sa 'Showtime' family.”
