James Yap Lawyer Says Texts From Kris Aquino Say She Will Make It Hard For Yap To Visit BimbyThe lawyer of James Yap has revealed that they have evidence that will reveal Kris Aquino wants to make it hard for the basketball star to visit his son, James Yap Jr.
The revelation was made by Atty. Lorna Kapunan, Yap’s lawyer, in a statement that came after Aquino’s latest statement that she should not be made the “antagonist” in this issue.
“Kris and/or her lawyers actions are not consistent with good faith,” Atty. Kapunan began.
“We have text messages from Kris indicating she will make it difficult for James to visit Bimby, and that James should file a motion to amend the visitation order for him to visit Bimby,” she said.
“Her lawyers indicated they will question the order of the court denying PPO over Bimby and have asked to see the report of the psychiatrist/sociologist,” she added.
Furthermore, the lawyer directly addressed one key issue that has recently been brought up by Aquino, the daughter of widely-regarded democracy martyr Benigno Aquino Jr. and former president Corazon Aquino. Kris Aquino is the sister of current Philippine President Benigno Aquino III.
“We don’t know if Kris sent James a text knowing that he is out of the country—unless she wants to again build a case against James alleging that he has neglected his duties as a father,” Atty. Kapunan said.
Recently, Aquino said that she tried to contact Yap on Father’s Day for Yap and his son to spend time together. The host and actress stressed that she is not the reason why Yap and his son did not get to spend time together as she tried to contact Yap herself for the meeting to happen.
Yap appears to have been out of the country on Father’s Day.
Atty. Kapunan also told Kris Aquino to stop all this drama.
“Enough of this drama! James just wants to visit his son. Is that too much to ask—when the court already decided that Bimby needs both parents?” the lawyer told the Philippine Entertainment Portal in the statement.
Aquino earlier said that when she tried to contact Yap early morning on Father’s Day, his lawyers did not respond until late in the afternoon.
“Sinabi sa akin na sorry di daw nila makontak si Mr. Yap pero subukan ko na lang daw tumawag. Honestly huwag naman akong gawing kontrabida kasi I did my share at 8 in the morning,” she said.
“At kung talagang atat ka sa anak mo, hindi ba eh 4:45 p.m. ako ni-reply-an at nandoon ‘yon sa cellphone? I don’t know kung nasaan. ‘Yon lang. Let the fact speak for itself. Huwag niyong sabihin na pinagkakait ko kasi wala akong ever ipinagkait sa dalawa,” she added.
She also clarified that the court has not given Yap visitation rights saying “No, they didn’t give [Yap] visitation rights.”
During the interview with ABS-CBN News, Aquino also belied claims that she is the one who is always stirring up controversy regarding the issue she has with her former husband and their son James.
“Akala ko ba ako ina-accuse nila na maingay eh never nga ako nagsasalita. Everything is dinadala sa presscon,” she said, an obvious swipe at the camp of Yap.
“When we got the result, nanalo ako, nagpa-presscon ba ako? Hindi. Sino ba pa-presscon ng pa-presscon? Eh gusto naman nila eh di diretsuhin ko din. Let’s go through the proper way. Walang nanay ang napakawalanghiya na idi-deprive niya ang anak niya of a father lalo at buhay ang tatay na ‘yon. Kasi I know how it is to grow up without a dad. Pero be responsible naman,” she said.
She added, however, that she will give her son what he wants as long as it is right.
“I will always do what’s best for my son and no matter what my son requests, I will give it to him as long as tama,” she said.
When asked if James is longing for his father, she said, “The truth is kung hinahanap niya eh di sana matagal na silang nagba-bonding. Walang nanay na tatanggi sa anak.”
“It's not about me; it is about my son and what’s best for him and kung ano ang gusto niya. I think videos won’t lie kasi ina-allow ko the show to shoot us, ‘yung what’s happening. So nakikita niyo at naririnig niyo kung anong klaseng magulang ako,” Aquino added.
The actress also mentioned Philip Salvador in her interview. She has a son, Joshua who is now 18, with the actor.
“Ngayon ko na-appreciate ang pagkatao ni Philip Salvador na never ginulo si Josh. Nakita niya na maganda ang pagpapalaki ng pamilya ko. Nakita niya kung ano ang devotion na binibigay ng mga kapatid ko. ‘Di kami ginugulo. Walang hiningi. Hinayaan kami at nakita kung ano ang resulta,” she said.
“It is not easy to raise a special child and he realized that. He allowed us because nakita niya kung gaano namin kamahal si Josh. Doon mo mako-compare. Lahat kasi dinadaan sa press release, hindi dapat ganoon,” Aquino added.
Furthermore, after comparing James Yap with Philip Salvador, Kris Aquino remained unrelenting in questioning whether Yap is being a responsible father to James Jr.
“Diretso na, since nag-start ba ng school si Bimb, bumunot ba ever sa bulsa ‘yung tatay? Nag-offer ba ever?” she asked.
“Kasi ang dali-daling sabihing mahal na mahal mo ang anak mo, na gusto mong magkaroon ng relationship sa kanya. Pero lahat ng tatay maga-agree sa akin na what does it mean to be a father? It means that you are a responsible father to the best of your ability,” she continued.
“Hindi naman ako nanghihingi ng milyon, never nga ako humingi. Pero I’m sure kapag lumaki ang anak ko, gusto niyang malaman na nagkusa ang tatay niya. Hindi ‘yung kumuha lang ng kumuha sa amin. Sana magbigay din sa bata,” Aquino ended.
