Boy Abunda Understands Kris Aquino's Decision To Quit ShowbizAlthough the plan didn't exactly push through, Boy Abunda said he understands and supports his friend Kris Aquino's decision to quit showbiz for her son, Bimby.
Abunda couldn't comment about the legal charges filed by Aquino against ex-husband James Yap, but said he undertands his friend's decision to take a step back.
It was in Abunda's house that the civil wedding ceremony for Aquino and Yap was done.
Asked about the current legal battle between Aquino and Yap, Abunda referred to the statement released by ABS-CBN.
The Kapamilya network said Aquino is obligated to fulfill her commitments to her shows. She currently has three shows--Kris TV, Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw and Pilipinas Got Talent.
When asked about Aquino's decision to quit showbiz, Abunda admitted he was saddened by it.
“Ganito lang ‘yan—nalulungkot pero iginagalang ko ang kanyang desisyon."
"Whatever the discourse, whatever the conversation is, naiintindihan ko that nothing will be more important than our families. Not even our careers."
He said there are more important things than one's career, like his/her family.
“Of course, I’m sad, you know, but I think she needs… ang interpretation ko lang, she needs the time."
He refused to comment about how long Aquino's resignation will be.
Abunda maintained he will stand by Aquino in these trying times.
“Sana’y mangibabaw ang katotohanan because there is a child involved. ‘Yan po ang aking dasal."
Abunda has been a close friend of Aquino since he transferred from GMA-7.
Aquino's resignation will still be under discussion by the management of ABS-CBN.
He said the public must wait for Aquino's homecoming, so she can answer any questions about her apparent resignation.
Abunda related he recently told the TV host-actress that she has to continue working for her kids.
He hopes for the issue to be finished soon because there is an innocent child involved, referring to Bimby.
