Ruffa Gutierrez May Dabble In Diplomacy In The FutureRuffa Gutierrez may soon dabble in diplomacy that is if she decides to pursue the field as a possible career shift. However, the host and former actress says that she has no plans to enter politics at the moment.
Gutierrez made the comments after being asked about her recent revelation that she will be taking a course in diplomacy in London soon.
The host said on Twitter recently that she will be taking a one month International Political Economy course at the King’s College in London, a sudden move for the 39-year-old celebrity.
In a recent interview with InterAksyon, Gutierrez noted that a lot of people are cheering her on in her decision.
“A lot of people are happy for me and they encourage me na ipagpatuloy ko ‘yan,” she said.
However, her announcement on Twitter also drew some flak which the host appears to be taking in stride.
“And you know, kahit na short course lang siya siyempre ‘yung iba diyan hindi naman maiiwasan ang mga naiinggit or may masabi lang dahil sa crab mentality. Kesyo short course lang naman bakit ko shine-share? Eh lahat naman talaga shini-share ko, di ba?” she told the news organization.
“Whether if it’s I study, whether I eat something, whether bumabagyo, you know, I really share my thoughts on Twitter and if they don’t like that then unfollow me, di ba?” she added.
She also denied that this course will lead up to her entering politics. Her mother, Annabelle Rama, recently ran but lost in a bid to get a congress seat for a district in Cebu City.
“Ay hindi, hindi naman. I think public service muna sa pamilya. Hindi ko pa naiisip na pumasok sa pulitika. It’s not in my plans at all,” Gutierrez said.
“Siguro more of like helping others and more of like international relations. More of like, ‘yun, sabihin ko na, ambassador or United Nations. Mas type ko ‘yung ganon kesa naman yung… hindi pa ako nakaka-recover sa pagod ko sa kampanya ko kay mommy sa Cebu, tama na muna ‘yun,” she added.
Meanwhile, the host also talked about her love life which she revealed to be nonexistent at the moment.
“I haven’t had a boyfriend in two years so kung dumating man ‘yun this year eh iwe-welcome ko ‘yun,” she said.
However, she noted that she will take her time and not settle for anything but what she wants.
“I’m not gonna settle. I’m very happy with myself, just being with my kids and there’s really no need to look for a man, I’m very happy on my own,” she said.
“Siguro I just wanna better myself as a person and hindi naman lahat talaga mundo ko show business lang,” she added.
“Siguro I wanna expand also, be ready for the rainy days, be ready when the time comes na I’m well equipped na kahit wala na ako sa showbiz mabubuhay ako,” she continued.
