Claudine Barretto Goes Back To Doing MoviesRumors are abound that former superstar Claudine Barretto will star in two new movies for Viva Films and Star Cinema, the film arm of the actress' original home network, ABS-CBN.
Barretto hasn't been seen in movies since her movie "In Your Eyes" under Viva Films last 2010. Her family and apparent psychological problems have hampered her return to the big screen.
But recent reports indicated Barretto may be talking with Viva Films and Star Cinema to make another comeback. She is set to star in a romance-drama film for Viva Films entitled "Eternally." There are no details yet of the film she will be doing with Star Cinema.
Both production houses remained mum regarding the issue. It can be remembered that Johnny Manahan, ABS-CBN's starmaker, has refused to star Barretto in the network's current shows because of her rift with Angelica Panganiban.
For 17 years, Barretto has ruled the airwaves of ABS-CBN's primetime slots. But ever since she left ABS-CBN and married actor Raymart Santiago, she was involved in several altercations with co-stars and even a run-in with one of the Tulfo brothers in an airport. ABS-CBN and even her next network, GMA-7, have dusted its hands off her.
She made several shows with GMA and at one point, was even rumored to be transferring to TV5. But both networks proved they have no long-term plans with the actress as they delegated her to supporting roles.
Barretto remained quiet for a while, preferring to attend to her family. However, rumors continue to follow her as she was involved in a nasty rivalry with sisters Gretchen and Marjorie. There are also reports that Santiago has already left their marital home.
Lately, Barretto also posted several pictures of her on Instagram that showed her bruised face. Reports said the actress is suffering from psychological issues.
