Cherry Pie Picache Praises Kim Chiu And Maja Salvador For Their Professionalism During The Run Of "Ina, Kapatid, Anak"Even though there was a rift ongoing between Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador while they were taping for ABS-CBN's top teleserye "Ina, Kapatid, Anak," Cherry Pie Picache still commended the two young actresses for showing professionalism despite the rumors surrounding them.
Picache, who played mother to the characters of Chiu and Salvador, said the set of "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" was actually a happy place to be in. Although there were problems midway into making the teleserye, the award-winning actress said everybody remained professional.
She was referring to the rift between Chiu and Salvador after it was found out that Chiu's ex-boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, is pursing Salvador. Lately, the two already admitted their relationship.
Chiu and Salvador used to be best of friends.
According to Picache, there was never any confrontation between the two young actresses. In fact, if one didn't hear about the rumors spreading, no one would notice that something was amiss between the two. She added it was only the cast and the crew who were creating tensions in the set because they all know what the two actresses were going through at that time.
Picache and Janice de Belen, another co-star, never took sides to the conflict since they both loved Chiu and Salvador. Picache also said that the set "remained happy" despite such intrigues.
"Sobrang professional na kapag magkaeksena, parang wala lang. Nabibilib ka rin pero kami umaalalay. Kami lang sa paligid ang naninimbang."
Meanwhile, Picache wants to take a month off from work since "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" run for at least eight months. She wants to spend time with her family first. She is also in talks with a couple of independent producers for some films. Nothing is final yet though, she said.
She also has no problems with the so-called "network wars." Picache is not tied to any network since she has no contract. Whichever network gives her the best project, then she will be working with them.
"Pero, maganda rin yung competition kasi both ay ginagawa ang lahat to be the best. So, advantage yun. Kahit sa mga artista nila, malaking bagay yun kasi sa kanila ang focus ng pagbi-buildup. Nasa kanila ang atensiyon."
For now though, Picache doesn't see anything wrong with working with either ABS-CBN or GMA-7. She is both loved by the two major networks in the country, she said, although she is usually seen with ABS-CBN.
With regards to her longevity in the industry, Picache advised up and coming stars to just appreciate the luck they have for being able to work in the showbiz industry. Picache has been in the industry for more than two decades, and has made numerous of films with big stars.
"Puwede kang sumikat, puwedeng box-office star ka for a year, pero after that, you have to find your sustainability—kung paano ka magtatagal."
For now though, Picache is choosing to lie low to be able to spend time with her six-year-old son, Anton Tria. Now in sixth grade, Anton is interested in tennis. The actress said she has to sacrifice her work to bond with her son.
