Richard Gutierrez Denies Alleged Fight With Youngest Brother RPA few days ago, Pinoy Stop reported an altercation witnessed in public between Richard Gutierrez and youngest brother Ritchie Paul. The two fought and created a slight commotion during the recent birthday celebration of sister Ruffa.
When he faced the showbiz press recently for the promotion of his upcoming movie ‘My Lady Boss,’ a smiling Richard instantly denied the report. He said a commotion never happened. He went on in jest that what happened was just a ‘mild play’ between him and his younger brother. In his own words, he said it was just ‘lambingan.’ He emphasized that he loves his brother RP (as Ritchie Paul is fondly called by his family and friends).
But not all the press people bought his alibi. In fact, it can be recalled that the incident was caught on video and was shown in several ABS-CBN shows. In that video, two men were caught fighting while many other people tried to stop them. A troubled looking Ruffa was also seen as she looks at the direction of his brothers.
Their father, Eddie Gutierrez, reportedly rushed to pacify his two sons. According to some witnesses, the patriarch was obviously mad about how the two Gutierrezes conducted their selves in public. It was expected that the family would sort things up and not let more details be made public.
Now that it was denied, showbiz observers would not have the opportunity to determine what really transpired on that controversial night. It was also recalled that the reported incident with RP was not the first time the Kapuso actor reportedly figured in an altercation during a public event.
‘My Lady Boss’
Meanwhile, Richard is currently busy helping promote his movie with Marian Rivera. ‘My Lady Boss’ would be shown in theaters starting July 3. Premiere night is set on July 2 at SM Megamall. The film got a B rating from no less than the Cinema Evaluation Board. Richard was noticeably active in the promotions for the movie. He went to University of the East’s Manila campus and to several malls to promote the movie.
Meanwhile, Richard has revealed that he decided not to renew his exclusive contract with GMA-7. In an interview, he said he prefers to be a freelancer this time. That means he could possibly do any project in all the three major networks. But he disclosed that for movies, he is yet to consume his contractual obligations with GMA Films, where he is set to still do two more movies.
Previously, Richard said he plans to study filmmaking in Switzerland for a year. But last week, he announced that he would pursue his studies in filmmaking not in Switzerland but in the Bigfoot International Academy in Cebu. That somehow dispelled rumors that he is coming over to Switzerland for some time because girlfriend Sarah Lahbati is set to give birth this month.
