JC De Vera Reportedly Enters Negotiations With Star MagicJC de Vera might not remain floating in the industry for so long. After severing ties with his former talent manager Anabelle Rama, the Kapatid star has started searching for a new manager. He has also turned into a freelancer because his network contract with TV5 just ended and the company decided not to renew it.
In the past several weeks, speculations have emerged that de Vera is signing up with talent manager Noel Ferrer, who also manages a number of Kapatid stars like Ryan Agoncillo and Edgar Allan Guzman. But Ferrer, in his tabloid column published on July 15 denied this. He clarified that there is no discussion between him and de Vera about a possible management contract.
Ferrer, on the other hand, shed some light into the matter. He revealed that according to his sources within ABS-CBN’s Star Magic, the talent management unit is having discussions with de Vera over possible management contract. Ferrer hopes this information would finally put to stop rumors about him getting de Vera as his new talent.
As of this writing, de Vera remains mum about this information. But according to people privy with his affairs, de Vera is still taking his time because he intends to finish all his current commitments with TV5. Right now, the actor is regularly appearing in the TV5 primetime series ‘Cassandra: Warrior Angel.’ He is also part of the cast of the weekend gag show ‘Lokomoko U.’ He is set to star in a TV5 ‘telesine’ titled ‘Halik sa Dilim.’
With this impending network transfer, de Vera would go right ahead of Richard Gutierrez, who is also reported to be mulling over a possible network transfer to ABS-CBN. Gutierrez is still managed by his mom, Rama. His network contract with GMA-7 has already expired last month and it was not renewed.
According to Ferrer, a possible network transfer would fulfill some of de Vera’s wishes. For one, he might possibly and finally star in a ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ episode. Second, he might finally work with some of the biggest stars of the Kapamilya network.
There are also talks that former girlfriend Danita Paner is also considering transferring to ABS-CBN. Thus, it is possible that in the future, the former lovers would meet at the network. They might also be given the opportunity to once again work with each other.
De Vera was a former Kapuso talent when he decided to transfer to TV5 several years ago. That network transfer was tarnished with issues because it prompted a feud between Rama and former GMA-7 entertainment executive Wilma Galvante, who is reportedly an executive of TV5 these days.
