Marian Rivera Opens Up About Wanting To Do Movie With Star CinemaKapuso prime actress Marian Rivera is honest that she wants to do a movie with Star Cinema, the movie production arm of GMA-7’s rival ABS-CBN. But until her contract with Regal Film ends, Rivera is not allowed to collaborate with Star Cinema.
Rivera noted that her boyfriend, Dingdong Dantes, has already done three movies with Star Cinema--2011's "Segunda Mano," 2012's "One More Try" and 2013's yet-to-be-titled film with Bea Alonzo.
The actress said she wants to experience how it is like to do a movie with Star Cinema, which has a reputation for winning award shows and topping the box office.
Rivera took note of the number of artists that Star Cinema can partner to her. Asked who she wants to be paired with, the actress said she is open to working with John Lloyd Cruz in either a romantic-comedy or a heavy drama film.
One time, the Kapuso actress was able to meet Alonzo in a bar. She was with her friend then while the Kapamilya actress was with boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo. Alonzo asked if she could meet Rivera since she will be doing a movie with Dantes.
Rivera's first impression was how nice Alonzo is for approaching her just because she will be working with her boyfriend. She wished Alonzo good luck.
Dantes has already informed Rivera of his impending movie with Alonzo, which will be a romantic comedy. Rivera said as a couple, they are open to things like that.
The actress, however, said she could not possibly make a teleserye with Angel Locsin for ABS-CBN since she's still in contract with GMA-7. She clarified there is no competition with Locsin, who she replaced as GMA's prime actress when the former transferred to ABS-CBN.
But Rivera maintained she and Locsin are okay whenever they see each other at showbiz events.
In fact, she has also recently reconciled with Karylle, Dantes' ex-girlfriend. Rivera smiled at the singer when she saw her at an event. Karylle smiled back. Whatever problem Karylle and Dantes had in the past, that was between the two of them, Rivera said.
Even during the start of her relationship with Dantes, the actress said she never had any problem with Karylle. "Kung may past man sila, kung may problema man sila ni Dong, sila yun. Wala akong kinalaman dun."
