Raymart Santiago Clears Name From Wife Claudine's AccusationsRaymart Santiago denied allegations that he physically abused his estranged wife Claudine Barretto, adding that the actress was quite capable of making up stories.
Throughout the whole ordeal of Barretto's rift with her sisters, Gretchen and Marjorie, as well as her reported psychological problems, the actor has remained mum and has never aired his side.
However, he chose to break his silence today since their children--adoptive daughter Sabina and biological son Santino--are already being dragged into the mess. Santiago said he will answer all of Barretto's allegations in the proper forum, which is the court.
He vehemently denied that he can hurt his estranged wife, the mother of his two children. He also said he never did anything that will hurt his children.
The actor said there are a lot of people who can prove his innocence, and Barretto knew that. His brother, Randy Santiago, also came to Raymart's defense and said his brother could not do something like that. He also said that they will be the ones who will criticize Raymart if Barretto's allegations were true.
On Monday, Barretto filed a temporary protection order from Santiago, saying that she had to result to filing a case against her estranged husband because she couldn't take the abuse anymore. She also said that she tried hard to keep the issue from the public, but she was forced to stand up for herself and their children.
The actress was very emotional throughout the whole proceedings, her lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio said. Barretto earlier claimed she will be doing a movie with Star Cinema but ABS-CBN's movie production arm denied the reports.
