Senator Ralph Recto May Produce Film With Wife Vilma SantosNot only does Senator Ralph Recto want his wife Vilma Santos to continue making movies, he might also produce a movie for the veteran actress.
Santos, whose film “Ekstra” is in this year’s Cinemalaya Film Festival, is currently the governor of Batangas. When she retires from politics, Recto hopes she continues to star in films.
“I wish she makes more movies, maybe one or two a year kung kaya ng katawan niya and schedule niya. Later on when she retires from politics, I’m sure she will be making more movies,” Recto, currently the Senate President Pro Tempore, said.
When asked in the past if she has future plans to run for higher office, Santos said that she does not have concrete plans and may retire from politics after this term which is her last.
Meanwhile, when Recto was asked if he would be willing to be an extra in one of his wife’s films, he said that he is already an extra at home.
“Sa bahay naman namin, ako na ang extra sa bahay eh. Puro sikat ang nasa bahay namin. Si Vilma, si Lucky. Pantay lang kami sa sikat ni Ryan. Hindi tayo artista,” he said.
Nonetheless, if the opportunity presents itself in the future, Recto would not mind producing a film with Santos.
“I look forward to helping her produce a movie, also in the future. I look forward that maybe, in the future, to write or maybe to produce, or maybe help her direct. Maybe later on, who knows?” the senator revealed.
“It will happen. Maybe sooner than later [she will retire from politics]. It’s her last term as governor. Depende kung ano ang mangyayari. Hindi niya iniisip [ang higher office], hindi niya pinaplano. Hindi namin pinag-uusapan,” he added.
