Sam Milby Perfecting His Tagalog For Teleserye With Judy Ann SantosSam Milby is trying to improve his Tagalog-speaking skills for his teleserye with Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo.
Titled Against All Odds, the teleserye will be Milby's next project after the run of Kahit Konting Pagtingin, his current television show with Angeline Quinto and Paulo Avelino.
"Siyempre, yung level ni Judy Ann na napakagaling talaga, ayaw ko na ma-suffer yung acting ko dahil sa Tagalog. So kailangan talagang todo talaga yung lahat. I mean, concentration sa Tagalog, sa character, sa lahat-lahat."
Santos-Agoncillo earlier commended Milby's acting skills. She also said though that he needed to practice his Tagalog more.
PEP.PH was able to interview the singer-actor at the ABS-CBN's ELJ Bldg.
Milby said he was thankful he had to stop taping for Againt All Odds and focus first on Kahit Konting Pagtingin because it allowed him to improve his Tagalog.
The show began taping last year, but was deferred until recently.
Milby has a Tagalor tutor, Tita Daisy Cariño, to help him with Tagalog. She was also the one who helped actor Gerald Anderson with his Tagalog.
Anderson and Milby both hailed from the US.
The singer-actor said his Tagalog is way better now than the last scenes he shot with Santos-Agoncillo.
“So right now I can say, yung desire ko to grow as a person, as an actor, as an artist, it’s never been this great."
“Parang I just wanna keep growing so much in everything, so happy ako, happy ako ngayon and I’m grateful.”
Against All Odds has gone through so many changes in the past months. Jericho Rosales was thrown out of the project while John Estrada was taken out and then pulled back in again.
Estrada was initially taken out of the project because of A Beautiful Affair. But since the teleserye was finished already, he will have the time for this new show.
