Judy Ann Santos Apologizes To KathNiel FansJudy Ann Santos apologized for the delay of the airing of "Got To Believe," the comeback teleserye of the country's hottest loveteam--Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. It wasn't her intention to delay the airing of the said soap, the superstar said.
Many have been saying that the reason why the airing of "Got To Believe" got delayed was because Santos doesn't want to move to a later timeslot. Instead, she asked ABS-CBN to end her teleserye sooner than expected.
Because of this decision, the airing of "Got To Believe" had to be postponed to give way to the last three weeks of "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala." Santos admitted that timeslot issue was the reason why her teleserye was cut short. It was her decision to end it soon while the ratings are still high.
Currently, "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" is in the third slot of Primetime Bida, after "Juan Dela Cruz" and "Muling Buksan Ang Puso." It should have been moved to the fourth slot after "Got To Believe," but Santos requested the ABS-CBN management to just let her finish early.
The management agreed, something Santos was thankful for because she can end her soap with her head held high. Reportedly, "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" has been slipping in ratings when it got bumped down because of "Muling Buksan Ang Puso." Another timeslot change would have been critical for the teleserye.
KathNiel fans, on the other hand, have been waiting for the airing of "Got To Believe," the second teleserye of Padilla's and Bernardo's loveteam.
ABS-CBN offered another project to Santos, a hosting job for a kiddie show. But the primetime actress has yet to give her "yes" to the Kapamilya network. She said she's keeping her options open since there are other networks who have presented their proposals already.
Of course, ABS-CBN will always be her first choice, but Santos said she has to do what's good for her career and where her heart will be at peace. Rumors said she met with TV5's Manny Pangilinan. Her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, has a show on both TV5 and GMA-7.
The actress said she will have to rest for two weeks before she decides on her next step. She has been busy with "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" for over a year, so she wants to spend time to Agoncillo and their children--Yohan and Lucho. Agoncillo, in one of his interviews, also expressed disappointment at what happened with Santos on ABS-CBN. He apparently told her that she has nothing to lose because she will still be the same "Juday" of before.
Meanwhile, Santos was very vocal about how ABS-CBN helped her career. "Then again, of course, yung utang na loob will always be there, possibilities of entering new life will always be there."
She said ABS-CBN will always be her mother network, and the first priority is to see what the Kapamilya network has to offer. In fact, even though she was clearly disappointed with how the management treated the timeslots of the teleseryes, the actress doesn't want to decide yet if she will transfer networks or not.
She will have to think about that first, Santos said.
The actress took a hiatus from showbiz after marrying Agoncillo two years ago. She decided to focus on raising her young family. Although she was never really away from the limelight, she stopped doing heavy dramas and films.
"Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala," a story about women empowerment and domestic abuse, is her comeback teleserye. It was well marketed and advertised by the Kapamilya network. But rumors persisted it wasn't rating quite well compared with the other shows during the Primetime Bida.
Moving it to a later timeslot will only be catastrophic for the soap.
