Jennylyn Mercado, Luis Manzano ‘Unfollow’ Each Other On Instagram, TwitterIt’s confirmed! Jennylyn Mercado and boyfriend Luis Manzano have just ‘unfollowed’ each other on social networking sites Instagram and Twitter. But no, the two are not breaking up. They are not even fighting. The mutual decision to ‘unfollow’ each other came when they learned that their respective shows would be rivals in the same timeslot.
Luis is hosting the local version of ‘Minute to Win It’ in ABS-CBN, which airs weekdays before lunch time. On the other hand, Jennylyn would be hosting GMA-7’s newest talent reality show ‘Anak Ko ‘Yan,’ which would also occupy the same timeslot in the morning.
Jennylyn revealed that she immediately informed Luis about the timeslot of her show when she learned about it. She said she does not want him to get surprised that their respective shows would be pitted against each other. ‘Minute to Win’ it has been airing for several months now.
How does she feel now that she would be competing with her boyfriend? To this, Jennylyn asserted that both of them welcome healthy competition. She disclosed that Luis is still supportive of her just like how she remains supportive of him despite the rivalry in their shows.
But Jennylyn declared in jest that they just decided to ‘unfolllow’ each other on social media to give in to competition. The two are also aware that in the TV rivalry setup, one would rate higher than the other. It is logical that both shows would just work harder to be on the winning edge. ‘Anak Ko ‘Yan’ would start airing on August 26, Monday.
‘Anak Ko ‘Yan’
The new reality talent show would be based on the premise that behind every successful showbiz personality is a stage parent. Jennylyn has her own stage mom, Mommy Lydia, who has always been with her since she started in the business.
Mommy Lydia is Jenylyn’s adoptive mom. Her real mother left her when she was just a young child. It can be recalled that Jennylyn was a victim of child abuse by her stepfather after her mom left for Japan. That was when Jennylyn came to the custody of Mommy Lydia, who is one of their relatives. To this, Jennylyn simply refused to talk about her past and instead assured everyone that she is happy with Mommy Lydia.
On her other issues, showbiz reporters asked Jennylyn about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Patrick Garcia. The two have a child, Jazz, who is under her custody. To this, Jennylyn briefly and meaningfully exclaimed that they are currently okay.
It can be recalled that another controversy ensued a couple of weeks ago when Mrs. Bing Garcia, Patrick’s mom aired her sentiment on social media about his son’s visitation rights for Jazz. The feisty mother revealed that Patrick is not allowed to visit Jazz whenever his financial support to the child runs short.
Mrs. Garcia even revealed that Jazz is a ‘special child.’ That was a private information that she should not have revealed for obvious reasons. According to her, Jazz is attending special school, which is quite costly. Patrick supposedly gives just a mere P50,000 each month for child support.
