Raymond Gutierrez Refuses To Answer About Brother Richard's Supposed BabyRaymond Gutierrez doesn't want to answer questions about his brother Richard's supposed baby with actress Sarah Lahbati.
He said media people should just ask Richard about that.
Rumors abounded early this year that the reason why Lahbati suddenly left for Switzerland was not to study (as she announced) but to give birth to her first son with boyfriend Richard. She supposedly gave birth in April, and went back to Manila to face the charges filed against her by GMA management.
Lahbati accused GMA of abusing her as an artist and not paying her right for the work she has done. Richard stayed by her side despite being the prime actor of the Kapuso network.
Nearly everyone in the Gutierrez family remained mum about the issue, but big sister Ruffa said she would welcome Lahbati with open arms since she came from a good family and she seemed to make Richard happy.
During a chance interview, Lahbati didn't deny nor confirm the existence of the said baby. She only noted that the media should ask her about the cases she is filing against GMA and ICONS, and that the rumors about her should not divert the attention from the real issue.
Meanwhile, Raymond has just transferred to TV5 after the end of his contract with the Kapuso network. He will be hosting "Showbiz Police: Intriga Under Arrest" with Lucy Torres-Gomez, Joey Reyes and Cristy Fermin.
This was announced during TV5's trade launch entitled "Weekend Do It Better." Raymond said he has been with GMA-7 since he was a teenager, and he thinks it is the right time to step to a different direction towards the Kapatid network.
"So it’s a start of a new relationship and start of new chapter in my life."
The segment hosts of the program are MJ Marfori, Dani Castano and Divine Lee. Raymond maintained he has been close friends with Torres-Gomez from way before, and she also knew Reyes and Fermin because of his sister Ruffa and his mother Annabelle Rama.
Although this is his first time to talk and bond with Fermin, he has heard a lot about her from Ruffa who considered the showbiz columnist her "nanay-nanayan" in showbiz.
It was the "perfect timing" for Raymond to transfer to another showbiz talk show since his program "Showbiz Central" on GMA was dropped. Also, he was able to talk with former GMA executive and now TV5 officer Wilma Galvante, and heard her plans for the network.
Raymond said he really believes Galvante can achieve all she set out for TV5 to achieve since she was the one who discovered him as well.
The TV talk show host said he is really hands-on with his job. He attends brainstorm sessions, and likes to mold opinions of his own regarding certain issues. "You know, ako as a host, you have to do your homework, you have to go to work prepared. So I really have to update myself ano bang nangyayari, ano ba ang mga opinion ko, ano ba ang puwede ko masabi, ano ang puwede ko ma-share."
And being in showbiz for a long time, he already learned the art of not minding untrue rumors about him and his family. But, of course, Raymond said having a strong support system is important.
"Ang maganda dito, even me, I’m looking forward dun sa banter ng mga hosts. Kasi we come from all different backgrounds so we all have different opinions, we all have different take on different issues."
Raymond is also excited for the "Housebreak" segment where he will be able to visit the homes of some celebrities. Since he just transferred to a new condo, he is thinking the right interior design for his unit.
He also defended himself against issues that he dealt with pork barrel scam queen Janet Napoles and her family in the past. However, Raymond prefers to announce his statement on the first episode of his new show.
He earlier said he is already consulting his lawyers about what case can be filed against those who spread such malicious rumors about him.
