Ryan Agoncillo May Sign Contract With GMA-7Things with GMA-7's offer is firming up despite counter offers from TV5 and possibly ABS-CBN, Ryan Agoncillo said.
Whether it will be an exclusive contract or not, the 34-year-old Agoncillo is just glad that he will be able to work again after suffering from dengue this past week. He also wasn't seen in "Eat Bulaga" because of falling ill.
Agoncillo said he wasn't able to attend meetings with the networks because of his condition in the past week. It was only his manager, Noel Ferrer, who handles things for him. Asked about an offer from ABS-CBN, Ferrer said it will depend on Judy Ann Santos' decision first.
It can be remembered that the actress had a slight tension with ABS-CBN bosses because of her teleserye "Kung Mawawala Ka." She asked for it to end prematurely because the Kapamilya network planned to move it on the fourth timeslot to give way to "Got To Believe."
Santos said she would much rather prefer to see it end abruptly than stretch it out and then lose in the ratings game.
The actress is said to be in talks also with TV5 after her contract with ABS-CBN expired. As for Agoncillo, he was never an exclusive artist of the Kapatid network and his contract with them ended before "Talentadong Pinoy" was given the boot.
He, however, said Santos' decision will not influence his own when it comes to choosing networks. Although there are considerations that need to be taken such as opportunities for them to work together in a project. They last worked two years ago in "Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo."
Of course, this is not the priority right now since their individual careers are thriving as well.
Sources said a particular network has an offer for them to do a show together. But Agoncillo said that will depend on Santos' decision whether or not to stay with the Kapamilya network. Sources added Santos will sign a contract with ABS-CBN on September 11.
As for Agoncillo, his loyalty remains in his job as a TV host and at times, an actor. "Yung puso ko… ang loyalty ko siyempre nandun sa trabaho ko whereever I may go."
“I think it’s been a long time that I have nurtured good relationships with the stations where I’m comfortable na sabihin na kung saan maganda yung trabaho, doon ako."
He has good track records with the three major stations, so he is comfortable accepting projects from either ABS-CBN, TV5 or GMA-7.
"Things are looking good for me and GMA right now because maraming opportunities, pipiliin lang talaga kung alin yung mas beneficial."
Agoncillo remained hopeful that "Talentadong Pinoy" would go back on air, whether it is offered to him or not. Of course, if it is offered to him, that would also be beneficial for Agoncillo since he really wants to work again with the show's staff and crew.
"So, if I would make a decision to bring the show back, I would like to work with the same people. Pero siyempre wala naman sa akin yun, e. We’ll see in the future."
For now, Agoncillo wants to get better so he can go back to co-hosting "Eat Bulaga" and push on with his and Santos' planned vacation by the end of September.
