Lian Paz Now Appreciates Paolo Contis, Admits To Dating John Cabahug

The adage “Time heals all wounds” is true, it seems, as Lian Paz now seems to hold little to no grudges against her estranged husband Paolo Contis.

In fact, the dancer and actress has expressed that she appreciates Contis now.

Why does Paz say this when in the recent past she had not a few choice words for Contis? It’s because Paz says that she now appreciates how Contis handled their separation.

In an interview with Startalk TX, Paz said, “Actually na-aapricate ko si Pao that part na hindi talaga niya ko pinatulan.”

She said that at the time when she was fuming at Contis, the actor did not add fuel to the fire by speaking against her.

“Hindi nga siya nagsasalita e, and dumating din yung time nawala din yung galit ko, dun kami nag-usap,” Paz continued.

Furthermore, Paz said that she and Contis are happy that their kids now have a more or less normal life. As the tension between the two parents has been defused, they have agreed on how to take care of the kids.

In a separate interview with The Philippine Entertainment Portal, Paz recounts how her relationship with Contis has improved after their nasty separation.

“Okay naman. Nagti-text siya tungkol sa mga bata, mga ganoong bagay lang,” she said.

Asked if their relationship has improved, she answered in the affirmative saying, “Oo, mas okay kami ngayon. Pagdating sa mga bata, minsan pinapakuha niya sa nanay niya, tapos magkikita sila sa mall.”

When she was questioned about accepting her separation with Contis, she said that she has come to accept it.

“Whatever it is, tanggap ko. Yung separation effect, matagal na rin naman kaming hiwalay. Actually, isang taon na rin pala. Siguro, better na ganun. Noong maghiwalay kami, tapos na-forgive ko siya, mas nakakausap ko siya na tao kaming dalawa,” Paz told PEP.

“Dati, hindi kami nakakapag-usap nang maayos. Hindi ba, nakakapagod din? Better ngayon na mas mature parents kami for our kids,” she added.

In fact, in the interview with Startalk TX, Paz said that their separation is now amiable and that Contis even solely processes the documents for the annulment of their marriage.

Meanwhile, as an old love moves to the past for Paz, a new one seems to be right around the corner.

This is since the former EB Babe has revealed to PEP that she is dating John Cabahug, a Cebuano basketball player and businessman.

Not that the actress is rushing things. She explained to PEP just how Cabahug and her know each other and what he is to her at the moment.

According to Paz, Cabahug is the person who makes her smile.

“Siya ang nagpapasaya sa akin. Pakilig-effect lang!” she said.

When she was asked if Cabahug and her are now in a relationship, Paz said that they are yet to reach that.

“Hindi naman... ang nangyari kasi, friendship kami noong high school. Magkatrabaho kami, kasi ini-endorse ko ang product nila, yung Skinmate, at happy ako kasi naka-up na rin yung billboard sa Edsa,” she said.

According to her, they are special friends and that she is exclusively dating the man.

“So, yun, madalas kaming magkasama and we treat each other as special friends. Hindi naman ako nakikipag-date kahit kanino, so mako-consider ko na siya lang talaga ang idine-date ko,” Paz said.

Paz confirmed that Cabahug is courting her.

In an earlier interview, Paz shared that Cabahug and her went to school together.

“[John and I] went to school together in grade school, so grade six and first year high school, classmate kami, yun lang. It’s funny, di ba? Parang after thirteen years, nagkita kayo ulit, yun,” she said then.

She also explained that she treat Cabahug as a “special friend” since “basta nandiyan siya palagi to help me on anything...Basta mabait siya and masaya ako sa company niya and sa company ng mga friends niya ganun.”

Paz also had something to say to people who are saying that she is rushing to get over Contis.

“hindi, kaya nga I’m taking one step at a time, kasi na-trauma na rin tayo, di ba? Iba na ang expectation natin ngayon kung magkaroon ka man ng relationship. Hindi na tulad dati na, 'O sige, go! Love, love, in love, in love!' Siyempre, ang priority ko, yung dalawang anak ko na,” she said.

Speaking of their daughters, Paz said that Xonia and Xalene have adjusted to the fact that their parents are no longer with each other.

“Ay, oo, at saka nakakatuwa si Xonia, alam na niya ang schedule ng Papa niya. 'If it’s Monday, Papa.'” Paz said.

“Kasi, nag-aaral na rin si Xonia. Pero wala naman kaming schedule talaga ni Pao. Open naman ako, siyempre tatay nila yun, e,” she added. “Bakit ko naman sila ide-deprive dun, di ba? That’s very bad.”

Paz is set to star alongside Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal in the upcoming GMA show “Prinsesa Ng Buhay Ko” while Contis is preparing for a project also for GMA with the working title “Katipunan”.

Asked if she would want to work with Contis in a project, especially since the two of them are both with GMA, Paz had some praises for her estranged husband.

“Posible. Naku, kung mangyari man yun, e, privilege, di ba? Not for anything, talaga namang magaling na actor ‘yang si Pao. Gawin nating mentor,” she said.
