Dingdong Dantes Wants Spiritual Blessing First Before Settling Down With Marian RiveraDingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are both in the right age to tie the knot. But showbiz's power couple has yet to settle down because the actor is still waiting for the right time to propose.
For Dingdong, it's not just about being practical. He wants everything to be settled when he finally ties the knot with his long-term girlfriend. Even Marian isn't ready to settle down, he added.
Although he is deeply committed to his showbiz career, this is not the reason why he has yet to enter marriage. Dingdong is 33 years old while Marian is 29 years old. Their management, GMA-7, is also supportive of their relationship.
Their GMA bosses are even cajoling them to tie the knot already.
Dingdong said there's no need for the both of them to rush into marriage. Marian is confident of his feelings for her. His dedication to one network (he has been with GMA for 15 years) will also show how dedicated he is to the people and things he loves.
The award-winning actor said he's very proud of Marian, who just co-produced a movie, "Kung Fu Divas," which starred Comedy Queen Ai-Ai Delas Alas. It will be distributed by Star Cinema, the movie production arm of ABS-CBN.
The project was close to Marian's heart because she liked the concept from the get-go, Dingdong said. At first, she wasn't sure if she will partner with Star Cinema. However, it became an easier project once the pieces fell into place.
Marian doesn't need his advices though, Dingdong said, adding that his long-term girlfriend and GMA-7's primetime actress has a mind of her own.
Dingdong, for his part, has just entered into a five-year contract with GMA-7. It ended speculations that he will be transferring networks already. The actor affirmed he might work with Marian again in a teleserye, but said he wants to make sure it will be a project both of them believed in.
Even with their stature, Dingdong said he still wants to audition for the role that will be offered to him since he wants to make sure that he will fit the role. The last teleserye he and Marian starred in together was "My Beloved" in 2012.
The actor is currently filming for his third Star Cinema movie, "She's The One," which will pair him with Bea Alonzo for the first time. The actress admitted it was hard for her to shoot scenes with Dingdong since they just worked for the first time, but the actor maintained their scenes turned out well enough and that working for the first time with each other worked to their advantage.
Their film, which has a light-romantic plot, is slated to be released on October 16.
