Kristoffer Martin Defends Himself Against KathNiel FansKristoffer Martin admits getting affected by the negative comments he has been receiving from the fans of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. However, he doesn't let this get to his head and instead, asks the fans to let him show what he's got before judging him.
Kristoffer will star alongside Julie Anne San Jose in "Kahit Nasaan Ka Man," the GMA-7 teleserye that will be pitted against KathNiel's (Daniel's and Kathryn's loveteam) "Got To Believe" on ABS-CBN.
He said they are pressured because they know how competitive the primetime period is, especially since they are being pitted against such a successful loveteam. That's double the pressure for him and Julie Anne, the young actor admitted.
Of course, they are not out to compete against KathNiel. It's all about business, the actor said, so he and Julie Anne want to do the best for their musical show.
Fans of KathNiel have been taunting the Kristoffer-Julie Anne loveteam ever since it was announced that their teleserye will rival "Got To Believe," which has been receiving such high ratings, next only to Coco Martin's "Juan Dela Cruz."
Kristoffer admitted it hurts him when he reads negative comments about him, especially because these people don't know him at all. However, he wants to know these things because he doesn't want to be complacent into thinking that everything's alright when it's not. The young actor added, however, that he understands the fans since they are just protecting their idols.
Aside from being a positive thinker, Kristoffer admits that knowing such comments about their loveteam will help him and Julie Anne prepare for the worst. "But then, gusto kong isipin na tatanggapin naman ng tao itong soap namin, kasi kakaiba. Sana subaybayan nila, kasi for eight weeks lang ito, e. Hindi pa natin lang alam kung mag-i-extend."
Their teleserye will be a musical show, so it will be different from KathNiel's romantic-comedy series. Although it will primarily run for only eight weeks, he and Julie Anne are prepared to make the most out of the show.
When he learned that he will be singing in the said show, he was surprised since he didn't even prepare for it during the story conference. Julie Anne is a great help, however, since she was the one who even coached him in singing.
Back then, Kristoffer was a finalist on ABS-CBN's "Little Big Star," which was hosted by Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo. This teleserye of his may open up doors in terms of his singing career. Kristoffer shared they are receiving positive feedback with regards to his voice.
If it will be offered to him, Kristoffer is ready to have his own album, especially if it will also pair him up in a duet with Julie Anne.
