Richard Gutierrez Tapes For "Gandang Gabi Vice"Is Richard Gutierrez ready to jump the fence and leave GMA-7 after spending so many years of his career with the Kapuso network? The actor was seen taping for an episode of "Gandang Gabi Vice," the late-night comedy talk show of the phenomenal Vice Ganda.
Is this an indication Richard will be transferring to the Kapamilya network? The actor has an expired contract with GMA-7, and although the network has offered him another one, he still hasn't confirmed whether or not he will be staying with GMA-7.
He used to compete with Dingdong Dantes for the title of GMA-7's primetime king, but he has since lost that battle after having some flop television shows and movies. Richard also figured in the messy breakup of his girlfriend Sarah Lahbati and the GMA Artist Center. Sarah accused the network of overworking her. Richard took her side.
Since then, it can be noticed that the actor hasn't been given good projects by the Kapuso network. Richard said he is just taking some time off to have some privacy and spend time with Sarah, who is in the country. There are rumors the actress also gave birth to their baby boy in Switzerland.
Sarah came back to the country to face the cases filed against her by GMA-7. Even Richard's mother and manager, Annabelle Rama, had not had a good relationship with GMA-7. In fact, she used to argue with its executives. This is the reason why he may be opting to transfer to another network.
Dantes, for his part, has been active both in GMA-7 and in Star Cinema, the movie production house of ABS-CBN. He is currently doing his third film with Star Cinema. Two of his films with the production house won him a best actor award from the Metro Manila Film Fest.
His girlfriend, Marian Rivera, also partnered with Star Cinema in producing a comedy fantasy movie she starred in with Comedy Queen Ai-Ai Delas Alas. GMA-7's power couple, however, signed anew with the Kapuso network. But they both said they are open to work with ABS-CBN and Star Cinema to bridge the gap between networks.
