Manager Denies Paulo Avelino's Alleged Suicide AttemptPaulo Avelino's camp denied the allegations that the actor recently attempted to commit suicide. Leo Dominguez, the actor's talent manager, said they were amused by such rumors.
"There is no truth to the rumour that Paulo Avelino tried to hurt himself. We were surprised and at the same time, amused to hear about it."
Reports said Paulo was recently admitted at the St. Luke's Hospital because of an anxiety attack that pushed him to try to hurt himself with a sharp object.
Leo, however, said there's no reason for the actor to have an anxiety attack. He also enumerated the projects that the actor currently has lined up.
There's a new teleserye for Paulo under ABS-CBN and a new movie entitled "Pagpag" for the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival. He also just finished a film called "Status: It's Complicated." It was produced by Regal Films.
"Pagpag" is Star Cinema's official entry to this year's MMFF. Paulo stars with reigning teen stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in the said horror-suspense movie.
"Status: It's Complicated," on the other hand, is the actor's first comedy film. He stars here with Eugene Domingo, Maja Salvador, Jake Cuenca and Solenn Heussaff.
Leo also assured the fans and supporters of Paulo that the actor is fine and that he's busy with work. Also, there should be no cause of alarm over the "fabricated" news.
Paulo didn't want to comment about this particular issue, only saying that he's okay and happy with his life and his career. He admitted though that he turned down the opportunity to work with Angel Locsin for an ABS-CBN project because of personal problems.
He had so many problems when the project was offered to him that it will be unfair for his co-stars and the storyline if he cannot give his 100 percent to the television show.
"Ayaw ko naman gumawa ng proyekto na makakaapekto or mabe-burden mo yung production o yung soap o yung istorya. So, it’s better to lay low for a while from overworking myself."
He didn't mention what these problems were, although reports have been pointing to his rocky relationship with partner LJ Reyes. They have a son together, but the two remained mum on whether or not they have already called it quits.
LJ is currently being linked to another ABS-CBN actor, JC de Vera. Both denied the rumors.
