Enrique Gil Laments Ending Of Muling Buksan Ang PusoEnrique Gil admitted he was also saddened by the ending of "Muling Buksan Ang Puso," the ABS-CBN primetime teleserye he stars alongside Enrique Gil and Julia Montes.
He said a lot of people, even some writers, have been asking him why the teleserye had to end so soon. The truth is, Enrique said, they were told earlier by the management that the show won't be extended because the story will really just run in that short period of time.
Unlike other teleseryes, which can eventually change its ending, "Muling Buksan Ang Puso" has a steady and unchangeable plotline to it, the young actor said. Of course, even though they tape five days a week and they're usually tired from the shoot, Enrique said they will still be looking for each other once the show ends.
He enjoyed playing Francis, his character in the show. And he especially enjoyed working with Julia and Enchong.
A lot of people have noticed how much he improved in terms of acting. Asked what inspired him when it comes to the emotions he use on the teleserye, Enrique said he doesn't really cry that easily in person. But because he was "in character," it makes easier for Enrique to let Francis show his emotions--whether he's crying, angry or happy.
The actor shared something he learned from his character, Francis. "Yun nga yun siguro—it's giving to others ang sarili niya. Yun din siguro ang natutunan ko sa buhay ako—ang maging selfless."
His character grew up in the United States, but Enrique said Francis never turned out as a brat and instead wanted to fix things with his other family. And even though he wasn't in the position to fix things, he didn't think of himself and continued to settle the differences between the two families (Susan Roces' and Pilar Pilapil's).
But he didn't only learn from his character, Enrique also picked up a lot of things from the veteran actors he worked with in the series such as Susan Roces, Pilar Pilapil and Dante Rivero. "Parang walang small scene."
If he's in a scene with the Queen of Philippine Movies, for example, he would see how to attack a certain scene and he would add these to the things he already learned previously.
Enrique will play a slightly more mature role in "She's The One" compared with the other characters he did before. "She's The One" is the third movie of Kapuso primetime actor Dingdong Dantes with Star Cinema and his first teamup with Bea Alonzo. Enrique completes the love triangle.
Meanwhile, there were rumors that Enrique was courting his leading lady, Julia. They were together in "The Reunion," but they never had the chance to get close to each other.
During the taping for "Muling Buksan Ang Puso," Enrique found it hard at first to get close to her, but eventually he was able to get to know her better.
"I have to know her. Siyempre, ganun din ako. Siyempre, may pressure. 'Ah, kaya pala.' After nun, mas tumaas ang respeto ko sa kanya. There's a reason pala."
Now, they are closer than they ever were. Enrique even gifted the actress with a simple bracelet as a "thank you" gift for allowing him to get to know her better during the show.
If he has to choose between acting and dancing (he has an album called "Top of the Gil" and a concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum this coming November), Enrique said he would rather concentrate on acting.
That's why when "She's The One" was offered to him, he immediately grabbed the opportunity to work with Dingdong and Bea, who he said were both very nice to him.
