Richard Gutierrez's Arraignment For Reckless Imprudence Moved To NovemberRichard Gutierrez was scheduled to enter his plea to his case, Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide, this October 3 but it was moved to November 28 because the actor was not in the country at the time being.
He was supposed to attend the arraignment at the 2nd Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Silang-Amadeo in Silang, Cavite regarding the accident that killed his personal assistant, Nomar Pardo, on May 22, 2009. The former Kapuso actor was driving the Nissan GT-R sedan that crashed into a PLDT post and three coconut trees. The accident killed Nomar in the process.
Atty. Marie Glen Abraham, Richard's legal counsel, was the one who filed the motion to reset the arraignment on September 23. She said Richard already booked the ticket to the United States before the schedule for the arraignment was announced. She showed a copy of Richard's itinerary.
Atty. Marie was also the one handling the case of Richard's girlfriend, Sarah Lahbati, against GMA President Atty. Annetee Gozon-Abrogar.
The complainant, Nomar's wife Lorayne, and her legal counsel did not attend the hearing already because they knew it was going to be reset anyway. Hon. Tomas Torneros Jr. agreed to move the arraignment to November 28.
Asked what would be Richard's plea in the case filed against him, Atty. Marie refused to answer since she doesn't want to preempt the hearing. "Pero, of course, let’s just wait for November 28, for him to enter personally his plea."
