The reigning teen royalties will star in the remake of the 1996 film that was originally topbilled by Jason Salcedo, Junell Hernando and Marc Solis. The movie was directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes. It was a big success at the 1996 Metro Manila Film Festival, having won all seven nominations including Best Film.
The remake of the "Magic Temple" will be done in partnership with Reality Entertainment. It is also expected to have a slew of new special effects. They also want to make a movie franchise out of the fantasy-adventure film. The first draft of the script is already done.
Malou said Kathryn's and Daniel's "Magic Temple" franchise may have five movies. After "Magic Temple," a movie called "Magic City" may also be produced.
In 1997, "Magic Temple" had a sequel called "Magic Kingdom" courtesy of Viva Films. It was also directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes. That film starred Jason and Junell while Marc was replaced by Janus del Prado. It was also the launching film of today's multimedia princess, Anne Curtis.
The movie is scheduled to be released in late 2014. But for now, KathNiel can be seen in "Got To Believe" every weeknights on ABS-CBN.
