Mariel Rodriguez Rejects TV5 Offer For Shows; Was Spotted At ABS-CBNThe future of her showbiz career remains bleak for Mariel Rodriguez. The other day, it was reported that TV5 seems not willing to let her go after the demise of ‘Wowowillie’ where she was a co-host. The network said it offered two shows to keep her busy. Those were as co-host for ‘Face the People’ and ‘Showbiz Police.’
While her followers could be happy about this attention given to her by TV5, Mariel seems discontented. In fact, she has already turned down both offers. Previously in her Twitter account, Mariel said her current manager Jay Montelibano is yet to give her an update about those offers. But now, it is clear that she is not yet accepting any project from the network.
So what will make Mariel busy in the coming days and weeks? Well, the common law wife of action star Robin Padilla obviously wants to keep herself busy in the company of her current live-in partner. In a recent interview, she revealed that she would rather be occupied in her small garden.
Mariel seems to be occupied with planting these days. In an interview, she actually used the term ‘farming’ for her current hobby. But she clarified that she does not own a farm yet. She is currently busy cultivating several vegetable crops. And where is she farming? In jest, Mariel said she plants her veggies in pots.
Meanwhile, many showbiz observers were shocked to learn that Mariel was recently spotted at the compound of ABS-CBN. Is she having meetings with Kapamilya executives for a possible network transfer? Could this be the reason why she has turned down the offers for shows by TV5?
Before speculations get any bigger, Mariel immediately confirmed that she was indeed seen inside the premises of ABS-CBN. But she clarified that she was not there for anything else other than to visit her former manager, TV host Boy Abunda. In fact, she said she was there to greet him for his birthday.
And who could have posted pictures of her while visiting Boy in the set of late evening newscast ‘Bandila?’ Well, no paparazzi are following her. The source of the pictures is no other than herself. She posted the photo of her and Boy inside ABS-CBN last Tuesday night (October 15) at her Instagram account.
It was in 2011 when Mariel left ABS-CBN to join Willie Revillame’s then primetime game show ‘Wiltime Bigtime.’ That time, she was co-hosting ABS-CBN’s noontime show ‘Happy Yippee Yehey.’ There were speculations that she was at odds with friend and co-host Toni Gonzaga, who was also a co-host of their show.
Willie decided to make his show a noontime program last January. Last May, he confirmed that he had decided to end the show in October. It turned out TV5 decided to cancel it because it has been costing the network too much. Willie is reportedly angry at TV5 for that decision. Many say that Mariel might also be harnessing ill feelings towards the network.
