Luis Manzano Jokes About Breakup With Jennylyn Mercado, Says ‘Why Get Sad Or Depressed?’There should be no more guessing: Luis Manzano and Jennylyn Mercado have really ended their relationship.
This was confirmed by Manzano in two separate interviews on Wednesday. Manzano spoke to ABS-CBN News and the Philippine Entertainment Portal and on both occasions, he confirmed that he and Mercado are no longer a couple.
According to Manzano, he and Mercado had an amicable separation.
“To some degree, I'm speaking on Jen's behalf already, sa lahat ng naglalabasang isyu, sa lahat ng mga pangalang lumalabas, Jen and I know the truth kung bakit kami nagkahiwalay,” he told ABS-CBN.
There have been many rumors surfacing about the breakup between the two. One of these is that a third party was involved in the split.
The name of Mercado’s former boyfriend Dennis Trillo is being dragged into the issue. There is also a rumor that Manzano’s new girlfriend is Yam Concepcion.
Trillo has denied over the weekend anything to do with the Manzano – Mercado split.
Manzano’s answer to this is to laugh it off.
He jokes: “Ako nao-offend ako kasi ang daming nali-link sa akin, hinihintay ko lang sana na malink sa akin si Kate Beckinsale. ‘Yun lang. Please naman, pang-Hollywood itong mukha ko.”

Billy Crawford, who has also been in a controversial breakup recently, is also being tagged in the issue.
This was the subject of another joke from Manzano. He said, “Okay, fine, fine, once and for all, na-realize namin ni Billy na iisa ang mga puso namin. Billy, kung nasa'n ka man, text me when you get home.”
Meanwhile, it seems that Manzano is on his way to moving on. In an interview with PEP.ph, he said that life is too short to be sad since you only get one life to live.
“Why get sad or depressed? Make the most out of every single day,” he said.
This is not to say that he does not regret that the relationship between him and Mercado has ended. According to the actor, TV jock and host, he can understand why a lot of people loved and supported their relationship.
Is this a sign that he is still hoping that the two of them will get back together in the future? According to Manzano, there’s a really slim chance for reconciliation.
He said that things happen for a reason and that he and Mercado just had to part ways and that “As of now, medyo malabo-labo na talaga,” to answer those who are asking whether they may get back together in the future.
According to both ABS-CBN and PEP, Manzano will be home in Batangas this weekend and will be with his mother Governor Vilma Santos-Recto. He told PEP that he will talk to Santos-Recto about the issue over the weekend.
He said he knows that her mother knows about the breakup, “Kasi yung mga text niya sa akin, puno ng lambing.”
“I know she knows, but to actually sit down and tell her the whole story, hopefully it'll happen this week,” he added.
