How Raymart Santiago Is Moving On With His LifeWith Raymart Santiago still tangled in a bitter on- and off-court dispute with estranged wife Claudine Barretto, how is he holding up?
According to the actor, he is doing just fine despite the difficulties.
In an interview with members of the media at a press event this Friday for his new show, Villa Quintana, the actor detailed how he is moving on with his life.
“I’m taking it one day at a time,” Santiago reportedly told the press at the event, according to the Philippine Entertainment Portal.
When people told him that he now has a glow about him and that he seems to have a better body now compared to when the feud between him and his wife erupted, the actor said that this is because he has no one to take care of except his self.
Now, he said, he just goes to the gym on a typical day. He said that he rarely goes out. After his gym sessions, the actor would go home or go to his restaurant and supervise there.
Though it seems Santiago is moving on, he still has his dispute with his wife on his mind.
In fact, it seems he has done quite a lot of thinking about this on his own. According to him, both he and Barretto will end up being losers in this issue.
“Sa dulo nito, pareho kaming talo dito. Pero ganun din, e, iniisip ko na lang kung kami pa rin, hindi na rin maganda para sa mga bata,” he said.
Right now, Santiago cannot go near his kids as the court has granted Barretto a Temporary Protection Order which bars Santiago from going near the actress and the kids.
Santiago has filed for a habeas corpus writ for Claudine to produce the kids and present them to him.
Aside from this ongoing legal battle between Barretto and Santiago, the actor is intent to keep on working.
How does he handle having personal problems and a work schedule?
The actor said that he does not bring his problems to the set. According to him, he is good at this. In fact, he thinks this is why he continues to get projects in the face of him having trials in his personal life.
“Kaya rin siguro ako binibigyan ng projects, kasi sa mga pinagdadaanan ko, at sa mga matagal ko nang pinagdadaanan, hindi nila napapansin,” he said.
According to Santiago, people would just be shocked that he is going through something and be able to work at the same time.
Santiago said that even from before, he does not like to broadcast to the world that he has problems. He said that these situations happen but there is no need to let everyone know about them. He added that he has gotten used to hiding his problems especially when he is at work.
Meanwhile, the actor also had a message to those who continue to support him.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga taong ‘yon. Sila ang nagbibigay ng lakas sa akin para ituloy ang laban,” he said.
