Mark Herras Is Ready To Face Charges Filed By Taxi DriverKapuso actor Mark Herras said he's ready to face the charges filed against him by a taxi driver. On October 26, he was on his way to GMA-7 when a road incident happened.
Apparently, they were driving along Scout Fuentebella when a taxi suddenly cut the intersection, almost crashing into them. Because of the impact of the brakes, the passengers of the taxi were all shaken.
Instead of driving on, the taxi driver went down and pointed fingers at Mark and his cousins who were riding with him in his RAV4. His cousins then also went down and started arguing with the driver. Mark tried to stop them but to no avail.
The taxi driver even called someone on the radio, seemingly asking for backup, the actor said. One of his cousins punched the taxi driver before speeding off and heading to GMA-7.
When they were at the gate already, the taxi stopped before their car. They didn't realize that the driver followed them to the network's building.
Mark said even the taxi's passengers were asking the man to stop fighting already and just move on.
At this point, Mark already went down the taxi with a long wood. The actor said this was for self-defense. He admitted he was very angry at that time, and he was ready to fight already because he was provoked.
The guards near the gate's entrance stopped him and pulled him inside the building. Mark said it was not his attitude to fight with other people. In the 10 years he has been in the showbiz industry, he has never been in a fight.
The only thing Mark would have wanted is if the taxi driver just apologized since it was his fault in the first place.
"Dun sa taxi driver, sana nag-sorry na lang siya. Ayaw naman magpaawat, e. Sana natapos na yun nang maaga."
Two days after the incident, the taxi driver, named Salvador Ogdiman, filed a case against Mark and his cousins. Mark said he is ready to face the case, and he wanted it to come to this point as well, so they will know who was at fault.
"Ang sa akin lang po, hindi naman po porke’t artista, basta-basta na lang nila ako aapihin, pati ang pamilya ko. Kasi puwede ko naman po i-defend ang side ko, di ba?"
Mark, on the other hand, said he wants to settle the incident with the taxi driver. He also doesn't plan to file a complaint against him.
