Inquirer Names Top 12 Celebrity Endorsers In The CountryAmid the devastation of the strongest typhoon to ever landfall in recorded history of the world, a local broadsheet has come up with a list of the highest earning endorsers from the showbiz industry. The Philippine Daily inquirer’s BusinessFriday has just released its list of Top 12 celebrity endorsers in the Philippines.
It should be noted that the list does not include Congressman and boxing champ Manny Pacquiao. The broadsheet decided that it would be prudent to do so because he is already in the list of Forbes’ global celebrity endorsers. The list covers 2013 so far.
This comes as no surprise. On top of the list is the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino. It could be noted that she had been holding that rank for quite some time now and from various lists. She may have been displaced by some in the past years but she has still been prominent, playing around the top spot.
Following her lead is Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz. The actor is not just a blockbuster celebrity and top TV personality. He is highly visible today through his various commercial endorsements, including brands of biscuits, instant noodles, over-the-counter medicines, and fastfood chain.
At No. 3 is Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu. She is also popular among fastfood chains and consumer products. Most advertisers think that it is her youthfulness and wholesome image that has made her a very effective product endorser.
On the fourth place is actor Piolo Pascual. Despite many intrigues that hurl his way and even if he has not been involved in any hit TV show or movie of late, Piolo has proven that he still has the approval of advertisers. On the fifth place is his former loveteam partner Judy Ann Santos, who interestingly is interesting to admen despite her married status.
Other popular stars
Anne Curtis who is popular among netizens through her most followed Twitter account in the country is at No. 6. She is in demand among telecom firms and consumer products. Sarah Geronimo, who is considered as among the biggest stars of her generation, is at No.7.
Interestingly, Carmina Villaroel is just at the eighth spot. This is odd because she and her whole family seem to be everywhere. They are collectively endorsing family products, including a brand of ice cream, detergent, and other consumer goods.
On spot No. 9, No. 10, and No. 11 are other Kapamilya stars, namely, Robin Padilla, KC Concepcion, and Daniel Padilla, respectively. Daniel is considered as among the most popular heartthrobs today, while it does not surprise anyone that his uncle Robin is still on the list.
Lastly, the No.12 spot belongs to comedian Michael V. He is the only celebrity endorser in the list who is not a Kapamilya. The Kapuso icon is currently visible through his TV commercials that include brands of dishwashing liquid, biscuits, and donuts.
