Glaiza De Castro Signs 3-Year Exclusive GMA Network Contract

Glaiza de Castro is now exclusively a Kapuso artist as the actress has signed a three-year exclusive contract with GMA Network just this Friday.

De Castro - along with GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar, GMA Entertainment TV’s Officer-in-Charge Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA Vice-President for Drama Productions, Redgie Acuna-Magno and Ms. Gigi Santiago- Lara, AVP for Alternative Productions - was present at the event.

The actress said that it felt great to finally become an “official” Kapuso. She said that she has been waiting for a long time to be a “pure contract artist” of the Kapuso Network relating that she started as a freelance artist then became a co-managed artist of GMA before signing the contract.

De Castro currently plays the roles of Gregoria de Jesus in Katipunan and Vavavoom in Vampire Ang Daddy Ko, both for GMA shows.

“Masaya kasi lahat ng mga bagay na hinihintay natin, kapagka binigay na, ang sarap ng pakiramdam. Isa siyang blessing talaga at isa sa mga prayers na natupad,” she told GMA News after signing the contract.

Furthermore, the actress said that she is excited by the fact that she is meeting people who will guide her who also think the same way as her.

De Castro also related her joy that GMA Artist Center is open to what their artists want to do. For example, she said she would like to also focus on becoming a singer and it seems that the Kapuso artist center is receptive of her plans.

Meanwhile, GMA News asked her who she would choose as her leading man if ever she was given the chance to personally pick an actor.

De Castro, saying that she probably has worked with most Kapuso leading men, said she would likely choose Tom Rodriguez since he is new to the network.

“Sobrang nahuhusayan talaga ako umarte sa kanya,” she said of Rodriguez whose recent hit television drama is “My Husband’s Lover”.

If GMA Chairman and CEO Atty Felipe Gozon’s statement during the event announcing the signing is any indication, De Castro may soon get that project with Rodriguez as the GMA boss said, “Itong pinirmahan natin ngayong hapon ay renewal lamang, at iyan ang nagpapatunay na sa ating pananaw, talagang magagaling itong mga artistang nire-renew natin at dapat lamang na bigyan natin ng magagandang projects.”
