Angel Locsin Auctions Off Chevrolet Chevelle For Typhoon VictimsAngel Locsin auctions off her muscle car, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. At first, the actress chose to remain anonymous and asked someone from the motor industry to sell the car for her.
However, the instructions soon changed. The car was to be auctioned off to the highest bidder and the proceeds will go to the Sagip Kapamilya Foundation.
Top Gear editor-in-chief Vernon Sarte later on revealed the owner of the car was Angel.
Vernon and his team were able to put two and two together by researching about the car on Google and some contacts in the motor industry. The information did not come from Angel.
"We used to adore her for her smile, but now—if the auction of the Chevelle pushes through for the Yolanda victims—we're swooning fans for life."
This is not the first time the actress helped victims of calamities in the country. Since 2009, Angel has been active in supporting Filipinos affected by catastrophes.
At that time, she led the Shop&Share project, an online auction of items owned by celebrities.
In 2012, Angel and her ex-boyfriend Phil Younghusband led the relief operation for the victims of Typhoon Sendong in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City.
In August 2013, she also donated goods for the victims of Typhoon Maring. She also joined the rescue efforts.
It is not only Angel who helped the victims of the typhoon. Other stars who joined hands are Anne Curtis and boyfriend Erwan Heussaff, Jasmine Curtis, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez, Julia Barretto, Aiko Melendez, Miriam Quimbao, Rhian Ramos, Kris Aquino, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera and of course, Sharon Cuneta.
