Confirmed: Wally Bayola Will Return To ‘Eat Bulaga’ This MonthIt has been a while since Wally Bayola took a self-exile and decided to temporarily leave his job (or was he suspended?). And many viewers of the noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga’ are now looking forward to seeing and watching their favorite comedian once again.
Wally logically needed to take the exit for a while following the leakage of a private sex video that featured him and former EB Babe Yosh Rivera. The sex video circulated online and was instantly controversial. It came a few weeks after a separate controversial video surfaced from Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda and his girlfriend Neri Naig.
Yosn resigned from ‘Eat Bulaga’ a couple of days before the sex video scandal leaked. That is why there are speculations that she was the one who leaked that private video online. Meanwhile, Wally’s wife and family instantly forgave him. Wally’s wife even approached GMA-7 to ask the network to let Wally return to work because the family is in dire financial need these days.
Aside from regularly hosting ‘Eat Bulaga,’ Wally is also one of the regular hosts/judges of GMA-7 weekend primetime show ‘Celebrity Bluff’ (with Eugene Domingo as the main host). Obviously, Wally also lost many opportunities to appear in movies, comedy bar shows, and out of town shows.
For several weeks now, there have been rumors that Wally would finally get back to work this December. According to sources, his bosses found it appropriate to use the spirit of Christmas and forgiveness for him to finally obtain public sympathy.
The rumors turn out to have real basis. According to Malou Choa-Fagar, the lady boss behind ‘Eat Bulaga’ and Wally’s talent manager, there is no truth to rumors that Wally would return to the noontime show this December 14, Saturday.
But Malou confirmed that Wally would resume work before the end of the month. She just did not give a definite date. And she also asked the showbiz press to refrain from asking Wally for an interview. Malou strongly declared that Wally will not be allowed to grace any kind of media interview. He would just return to work without talking about the scandal.
As of press time, there is no confirmation yet if Wally would already report to work on the next taping of ‘Celebrity Bluff.’ But it is logical to assume that he would first appear on ‘Eat Bulaga’ and then resume his other responsibilities afterwards.
It also helped that Jose Manalo, Wally’s on-screen comedy partner, related what happened when he and Wally recently hosted a mall show somewhere in Pampanga. In an interview recently aired on ABS-CBN’s ‘Kris TV,’ Jose revealed that Wally apologized to the audience about the controversies that hounded him.
According to Jose, the audience’s reaction was very encouraging and touching. He said they warmly welcomed Wally and even gave him a loud applause after he said his apologies. Jose hopes that it would serve as an indication that the TV audience has already moved on to forgive Wally and welcome him once again to their hearts. It is Christmas season, anyway.
