Toni Gonzaga Shares How It Is To Work With John Lloyd CruzJohn Lloyd Cruz is definitely a gentleman, actress-TV host Toni Gonzaga said when asked how it feels to work again with ABS-CBN's prized actor, who was lately involved in a controversy involving another one of the network's stars, Anne Curtis.
Although Toni refused to comment on the allegations that it was John Lloyd's and Jake Cuenca's prank that caused Anne to slap JLC (John Lloyd's nickname) and two others in an exclusive bar in Taguig City, Toni remarked she never encountered any ungentlemanly acts from John Lloyd.
The actor has never commented about the issue with Anne, who already apologized to the aggrieved parties.
Toni, who worked with John Lloyd in 2010 for the hit "My Amnesia Girl" and now for the sitcom "Home Sweetie Home," said it is a joy to work with the actor since he's very professional and tries to bring out the best in his on-screen partner.
Right after the incident with Anne was published, Toni and John Lloyd saw each other on the set of their new sitcom, which will start airing in January. However, they never talked about the issue.
Toni said John Lloyd has always been mum about issues hounding him. And since she no longer hosts for "The Buzz," the actress-TV host said it's none of her business anymore what her other colleagues in the business do when they are not in front of the camera.
She admitted that a lot of people have asked her about it, but she'd rather not comment on an issue that does not involve her.
Toni and John Lloyd have already bonded during the "My Amnesia Girl" shooting days, so it's easy for them to work now again. Of course, there were a couple of awkward stages at the start since they haven't worked together in three years, but they were able to overcome it.
"Mahusay naman kasi siya. Mapagbigay at magaling na aktor sa eksena. Napakabait na tao, mapagbigay, at napaka-generous sa eksena."
Toni said she feels lucky for having the chance to work again with the actor.
Meanwhile, the actress-TV host shrugged off rumors that hers and John Lloyd's partners might get jealous because of their sweet scenes in the sitcom.
Toni has been going out with director Paul Soriano for six years while John Lloyd is with Angelica Panganiban.
The actress said she's friends with Angelica and her younger sister Alex is also very close to John Lloyd's girlfriend.
Toni said in the six years that she and Paul have been together, the trust between them was already strong. In fact, Paul is a fan of Toni's and John Lloyd's first movie, "My Amnesia Girl," and believes it is one of Toni's finest movies.
"Home Sweetie Home" also stars Rico Puno, Sandy Andolong, Jayson Gainza, Miles Ocampo, Clarence Delgado, Joross Gamboa, Ketchup Eusebio, Eda Nolan, Ryan Bang, Eric Nicolas and Mitoy Yonting.
It will be shown starting January 5 after "Goin' Bulilit."
