KC Concepcion Says Winning A Best Actress Award Is The Best Christmas GiftKC Concepcion was surprised when Governor ER Ejercito, her leading man in "Boy Golden," said she must win the best actress award or else, the Metro Manila Film Festival is rigged. She felt flattered that ER thought she deserved the award that much.
But for KC, being able to do such a challenging role as the one she did in the movie was an award enough. She said it would be the best Christmas or New Year gift if she is ever given the best actress nod.
The actress believed comedienne Eugene Domingo is the most deserving of the award. She looks up to the actress, especially in the past years that KC has not been joining the film fest.
She said she's used to being the Star of the Night, but never as one of the nominees for best actress.
In this film, KC had to undergo intense mixed martial arts training. Believing this to be the most challenging of all her roles, the actress said she also learned how to hold a gun, how to kick, box and strengthen her endurance to be able to last in the fighting scenes she is going to shoot.
The actress-endorser said being able to mention her name alongside that of Eugene is an honor enough for her.
"It would be a really nice New Year or Christmas gift—sana. Pero, mataas ang respect ko sa ibang artistang matagal nang nandito."
"Sino ba naman ako para mag-expect? Pero, if ever man na magbibigay, I would be thankful kasi medyo mahirap din naman ang naging role ko dito."
The awards will be held at the Meralco Theater tomorrow, December 27.
