Tom Rodriguez Says "My Husband's Lover" Is Highlight Of His YearFor actor Tom Rodriguez, who rose to fame in "My Husband's Lover," the highlight of his year would be auditioning for the gay role in the said teleserye and leaving a promising character in ABS-CBN's hit morning show "Be Careful With My Heart."
Until now, he still cannot believe all the opportunities that came his way because of landing the role of Vince, the gay character he played opposite Dennis Trillo in the controversial "My Husband's Lover."
Tom and Dennis played lovers Vince and Eric while Carla Abellana played Vince's wife, Lally.
"Hindi ako nagbibiro a, I know it sounds cliché, pero parang Hindi pa talaga ako nagigising. Parang feeling ko, nananaginip pa rin ako. The whole thing was so unreal, and I’m not even sure what point of the life I’m in right now."
When he first auditioned for the role, he didn't know what to expect. He really just tried and hoped for the best. Because of that risk, it became the catalyst of his whole 2013.
And also, because of that role, he was able to land an endorsement deal with Dra. Vicky Belo as one of its endorsers. The celebrity doctor even threw a Pink Party for Tom.
The actor said he's very honored that he became an endorser of the Belo Group. He added that he's thankful to the doctor for throwing him a lavish party such as that one.
As for Dra. Belo, she said that Tom is one of her most likable endorsers. She always thought that the young generation are not chivalrous anymore, but she was wrong. Tom is gentlemanly and very attentive.
Meanwhile, Tom shared his New Year's resolutions. He said he must be more industrious next year, and he also must be more disciplined in what he does.
He also wants to be more disciplined when it comes to working out and being fit.
As for what projects are lined up for him next year, Tom said he's looking forward to working with other great actors in the industry. "And just to explore my craft and try out different roles and have fun, because I’m doing the thing that I love right now."
In the first part of 2014, he will also start shooting for his and Carla's first movie together, "Let's Take A Chance."
