Kris Aquino Hopes James Yap Is Proud Of Bimby For “My Little Bossings” PerformanceKris Aquino is hoping that her estranged husband, James Yap, is proud of their son James “Bimby” Aquino-Yap Jr. in his performance in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2013 entry “My Little Bossings”.
The sentiment was expressed by Aquino during an interview with members of the press during the awards night of the yearly film festival on Friday where she also said that she is not eyeing another film for her son soon after the hit “My Little Bossings”.
Asked if she has a new film lined up for Bimby, Aquino said “wala” saying that she hopes her son would focus on his studies at the moment.
Aquino explained that this decision is partly caused by her row with Yap whom he formally separated from last year amid buzz of unfaithfulness of Yap.
“Si Bimby kasi nag-aaral. Ayaw ko naman masisi later,” she said, adding that people know she is at odds with the basketball star. She said she does not want to be blamed for keeping her son focused on a showbiz career when it is the mother’s responsibility to ensure her children have the right priorities.
Aquino has earlier said she is grateful for the performance of “My Little Bossings”, a film she personally backed. The film stars Aquino, her son, Vic Sotto and Ryzza Mae Dizon.
“My Little Bossings” was the runaway a hit in terms of gross ticket sales in the opening of the MMFF 2013 on Christmas day. It grossed over P50 million on opening day alone, a record for the Metro Manila Film Festival.
Asked where the money Bimby earned in the film will go, Aquino said that it will all go to the kid’s trust fund. She said she had promised James this.
As for her message to her estranged husband, she said, “Buti naman na supportive na siya of Bimby. He'll be proud of how well his son performed. Siguro naman pag nakita niya, siguro naman matutuwa siya lalo na na makikita mo 'yung anak mo na performing well at bumait. So thank you, James. God bless. Peace.”
