Vic Sotto Says He Respects Lourd De Veyra's Open LetterVic Sotto said he is open to criticism and in fact, respects Lourd de Veyra's open letter to him regarding "My Little Bossings." In it, Lourd said he was disappointed by the movie because of the numerous product placements and the rushed plotline.
Vic didn't read the letter, but his girlfriend, Pauleen Luna, was offended by the blog post. The veteran comedian said he hoped Lourd sent the letter directly to him.
"Eto yung tinatawag nating demokrasya. Nirerespeto ko ang opinyon ng kung sino man, ganun din ang pagrespeto sa milyun-milyong nanonood, nasiyahan, at natuwa sa aming pelikula."
"My Little Bossings" is officially the top-grossing film of the 39th Metro Manila Film Fest. Vic said they're all very happy about the results of the festival.
He didn't expect that they will top the festival. Before Christmas, he was quite confident that "My Little Bossings" will be one of the highest earners in the festival. However, Vic said he was surprised they had a record-breaking first day and first week.
They even topped the overall earnings of the festival entries that also included Vice Ganda's "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy," Eugene Domingo's "Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel," Daniel Padilla's "Pagpag Siyam Na Buhay," Rocco Nacino's "Pedro Calungsod," Robin Padilla's "10,000 Hours," KC Concepcion's and ER Ejercito's "Boy Golden" and musical "Kaleidoscope World."
Vic doesn't mind that Star Cinema boasts that "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy" has already surpassed the earnings of "My Little Bossings." He said that what's important is the official results of the festival.
He is proud that in total, the festival earned more than a billion pesos. Asked if there is a part two to "My Little Bossings," Vic said he hasn't talked about that yet with Kris, a co-producer of the film.
"Hindi pa kasi ako nagising sa isang napakagandang panaginip dahil hindi ko talaga inaasahan. Hindi pa kasi ako nagising sa isang napakagandang panaginip dahil hindi ko talaga inaasahan."
Vic is challenged by the results of "My Little Bossings." As far as production and box-office success, it will be very difficult to surpass the first film.
Meanwhile, Vic revealed that Ryzza Mae Dizon will receive a house from TAPE Productions. He said it took them a while to find a house for the child wonder, whom Vic credited for the success of the film.
He said Ryzza and Kris son, Bimby, have contributed well to the success of the film.
Asked if the house is Ryzza's bonus, Vic said it can be and it is also a gift from her "Eat Bulaga" family.
Vic shared that Ryzza and her family will be able to transfer to their new house within the month. He also said they are trying to find a house that is located near Ryzza's school and work.
He added that he will be giving Ryzza another gift while Kris will surely present something to the child wonder too. He even joked that Ryzza already changed her surname to Aquino.
Vic then thanked Ai-Ai Delas Alas for supporting the film. While they were filming the movie, the Comedy Concert Queen already said she will support Vic and Kris.
During the premiere night, Ai-Ai was also there with Vic and Kris. She even gave a testimonial. "Isa sa mga kaibigan ko rin ‘yan, kumbaga, tunay na kaibigan."
