Wenn Deramas, Vice Ganda To Make More FilmsFollowing the massive success of “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” director Wenn Deramas candidly admitted that there is nothing stopping him and Vice Ganda from making more films.
Deramas told members of the press during the thanksgiving event for his latest film with Vice Ganda, whose real name is Jose Marie Viceral, that he and Viceral have what can be seen as a blood compact to make more films.
“Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” an entry to last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival, has just clinched the title of the country’s highest-grossing film of all time after taking in P427 million at the box office since opening on Christmas Day.
Deramas said, “Hindi naman yata kami maghihiwalay [ni Vice]” and said that there is currently nothing stopping them from making more blockbuster films.
In fact, the director said that he has a very good relationship with Vice Ganda. He mentioned that their relationship is like that of a mother and daughter with Vice Ganda even calling him “mother”.
“So sa akin, hangga't may magandang kwento na kaya kong gawin at gusto niyang gawin, gagawa't gagawa kami para magpasaya lagi ng Pasko ng mga Pilipino,” Deramas said.
Deramas and Viceral have a very successful history making films together as their past films include “Petrang Kabayo,” “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin,” “This Guy's In Love With U Mare,” and “Sisterakas.”
Two of those films, “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” and “Sisterakas,” were the previous holders the title of being the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
