Geoff Eigenmann Wants To Do Gay RolesGeoff Eigenmann is finally up for a challenge by doing gay roles. Now that he is back after a hiatus, the actor said he is looking forward to more challenging roles than the ones he did before.
The Kapuso primetime actor laments that he has been typecasted in leading man roles. Also, he wants to do a contrabida role or something in an action movie.
Geoff lost a lot of weight because of the "fat memo" he received from GMA-7 last year. Now, he is back working in "Adarna" alongside Kylie Padilla.
His girlfriend, Carla Abellana, starred in "My Husband's Lover," which tackled a relationship between two gays. Geoff said the teleserye brought in a topic to talk about.
"So, hopefully, we can dig deeper into the third sex and how they live dito sa society natin and all that. It’s good to find out where their lives really go, anong nangyayari sa life nila."
The actor is even open to doing love scenes with another actor as long as it's needed for the project.
For Geoff, acting is a form of emotional release. Since he wanted to do many roles, the actor said it will help him express himself more in terms of whether or not he's happy, sad or what-not.
"Kumikita ka na, nakakapag-release ka pa."
Meanwhile, Geoff clarified rumors that he and Carla will get married soon. He said those rumors have been said since last year.
Asked if he has thought about it, Geoff said he has especially since he is not getting any younger. But still, the actor is not a big planner.
"I don’t like planning kasi. I just let things fall into place. Ayokong pinipili."
His brothers, AJ and Ryan, are already married. AJ will get married this year here in the Philippines.
That's the reason why he can say, for sure, that he's not getting married because it will be "sukob," an old Filipino belief.
Carla's sister is also getting married this year.
Asked if he's ready to get married, Geoff say he can say that he is. Also, he's husband material while Carla is wife material.
They are both happy in their three-year relationship, so Geoff said he just needs to be more responsible and then they can maybe take that step already.
When he gained weight, did Geoff thought he's going to lose his leading man status. He said he never thought about that, but he doesn't want to be pushed to the limits.
How about Carla leaving him? Was he frightened of it? "Yun ang never talaga. It never even crossed my mind."
Asked if he's that confident, he just said: "Of course, kahit umabot pa 'ko ng 300 pounds."
Because of his clean, wholesome image, Geoff was always seen as a goody-goody guy. But the actor maintains he also has mood swings like other people.
Of course, it's part of his job to always act nice. It's not that he's trying to put up an image that is not him, but he has to be presentable and he has to be a role model to the kids.
How about drugs? Geoff said he was exposed to it, but made it a point that it won't affect his personal or public life. Also, he learned from his parents and his family that nothing good will come out of doing drugs.
"I think, it’s a good thing that we learned from our parents." The only problem is, Geoff said, he easily gains weight.
