Marian Rivera Doesn't Mind Competition With Angel LocsinMarian Rivera shrugged off issues surrounding her and Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin. Their new shows will be pitted against each other at the primetime block.
Marian is starring in "Carmela" while Angel's "The Legal Wife" is set to air soon. When Angel was still with GMA-7, Marian played second fiddle to her as all of the major projects of the network went to Angel.
However, when the actress transferred to ABS-CBN, Marian immediately became the Kapuso network's primetime queen.
The two of them are always pitted against each other, but Marian said it's all work for her. She understands and respects competitions, but what's important for her is that she's happy in real life, the actress added.
She was also asked about the decision of ABS-CBN to remake "Dyesebel," a fantaserye she also did before with GMA-7. Anne Curtis will be reprising the role of the lovelorn mermaid for the ABS-CBN remake.
Marian doesn't mind that someone else is doing the role she has made popular again in television.
Even when she did "Dyesebel," someone else also did it before her, Marian said. "At si Anne Curtis din naman, mabait naman sa akin yun. Kapag nagkikita kami, e, nagbabatian naman kami."
When they were doing a magazine shoot for Rogue, Anne kept on exchanging jokes with her, Marian said.
It cannot be helped that these roles will be reprised, and it's okay with Marian if they are. In fact, Marian is just happy she was able to do both "Dyesebel" and "Darna."
Since she mentioned that Anne usually smiles at her and greets her, does that mean there is a celebrity who seems to be antagonistic towards Marian? The Kapuso primetime queen admitted there is one artist who does not greet her, but she refused to say who.
She is also getting recognition from other Asian countries. A Vietnamese-based television network has offered to pair her up with a Vietnamese actor. Marian is open to the idea as long as GMA-7 will allow it.
Marian said Vietnamese people are very warm, and they even accompanied her to the airport where they cried when she bid farewell.
Marian's teleserye, "Endless Love," has been shown in these countries. Next time, Marian will be traveling to Malaysia since her last trip there was cancelled.
