Mark Gil Doesn't Believe Erap's Alleged Comments Against Daughter AndiVeteran actor Mark Gil doesn't believe that Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada disapproves of Andi Eigenmann for his son, Jake Ejercito.
Andi is the daughter of Mark with actress Jaclyn Jose.
Mark said he doesn't believe Erap will interfere into the affairs of his son, Jake, and Andi. He just understands that Erap wants Jake to prioritize his studies rather than his lovelife.
If he was Erap, Mark would also want his son to finish studies first and not to complicate his life by being involved with someone from the showbiz industry.
"May mga edad na ang mga ‘yan pero siyempre bilang mga magulang, pinangangaralan lang ang mga anak na tapusin muna yung pag-aaral bago ang lahat."
Mark wants Jake for Andi since he's good to Andi and her daughter, Ellie.
The veteran actor said he's very proud of Andi for what she was able to achieve. This is despite the fact that some said Andi cannot go back to her successful career because she became pregnant with Ellie.
But Mark never wavered in his belief that Andi will bounce back from that ordeal. "I am very proud. They [his children] all have achieved so much more. I’m very proud."
At 54, Mark has a number of grandchildren already. He said he's proud of all his children and grandchildren because they are all raised very well.
He's also happy that all his children are close to each other and get along well with each other. Currently, all the Eigenmann grandchildren are with Cherie Gil, his sister.
Cherie just came back from New York after three months. "Pag sinabi ni Cherie, 'I want the kids here,' lahat, may time sila."
Meanwhile, Mark is a part of ABS-CBN's "The Legal Wife," which will start airing on January 27. He's happy that he's back with the Kapamilya network since the last teleserye he did with the network was "Guns and Roses" back in 2011.
The story for "The Legal Wife" was conceptualized early last year, but they only started shooting the scenes late last year. It was the perfect timing to air the teleserye, however, since they want people to forget about the disasters that befell the country in 2013.
The theme of the teleserye is very sensitive, but Mark echoed Angel Locsin's statement that the teleserye does not center around the legal wife and the illegal wife. It's not all about marriage, Mark added.
"It’s about families, fathers... kung paano naapektuhan ang mga anak, magkakapatid, it’s about love. It’s really nice."
What was it like working with younger stars? Aside from Angel, Mark will also be working for the first time with Maja Salvador, Jericho Rosales and JC de Vera.
He is astounded by the professionalism of these young stars, he added. "They are already taking over. Soon, 'di magtatagal sila na rin ang magiging beterano. They are fantastic young actors. They are very professionals."
As a veteran actor, Mark said he wants to support these young stars since they are also very supporting to the veteran cast members. "Masarap silang katrabaho."
