CCTV Footage Supports Vhong Navarro’s Story On The Mauling IncidentTalk of the town today is the incident that involved Vhong Navarro and a group of people led by influential businessman Cedric Lee. As the two sides of the story unfold, there are speculations that a third version would soon come out.
But yesterday, January 28, the CCTV footage from Forbeswood Height condominium at The Fort was released to the media. That video footage somehow supports Vhong’s testimonies about what happened on that fateful night at the condo unit of Deniece Cornejo.
Deniece claims that Vhong attempted to rape her inside her condo. She said that incident led Cedric and his group to beat Vhong. In her side of the story, Deniece attests that it was a mere coincidence that Cedric, his sister Bernice, and a group of six other men dropped by her place.
She said their group was supposed to go out. But then, they came to the place and witnessed Vhong at a compromising situation. They claimed that Vhong had his pants off as he was trying to force Deniece to make love with him.
But the CCTV footage says otherwise. In the video, it was showed that Cedric came shortly after Vhong went in to Deniece’s condo unit. Cedric was also followed by the group of men, who allegedly beat Vhong. The CCTV footage was limited, though, because it does not show what really happened inside the condo unit.
But the footage was enough to give Vhong’s side of the story more credibility. That is because his statements about the incident matched with what the video footage shows. That is why the public opinion about the issue suddenly turned more in favor of the beaten TV-host comedian.
The CCTV also showed that Vhong’s hands were tied at his back when the group came out from the condo unit. There’s even footage of the group in the elevator. This may be enough evidence to the illegal detention complaint that Vhong filed yesterday against Cedric, Deniece, and their group.
Serious illegal detention is a non-bailable offense. It is the same case that sent pork barrel queen Janet Lim Napoles to jail after her former accomplice and now whistleblower Benhur Luy claimed that he was detained for a few months at one of Napoles’ condo units.
Vhong filed several cases against his oppressors on January 28, around 2:20 p.m. He filed the complaint while in his hospital bed at St. Luke’s Medical Center. He just came from a surgical operation to fix his broken nose. Among the cases that he filed against the group before the Department of Justice were serious illegal detention, serious physical injuries, grave coercion, unlawful arrest, grave threats, and blackmail.
