Robin Padilla Wants Common Law Wife Mariel Rodriguez To Host UkgIf Robin Padilla would have it his way, he prefers to see common-law wife Mariel Rodriguez to be one of the hosts of a morning show on TV. He specifically mentioned ABS-CBN’s show ‘Umagang Kay Ganda,’ which he actually mentioned as ‘Gandang Umaga.’
This was his assertion when he recently met some members of showbiz press. According to the Philippine showbiz’s original ‘Bad Boy,’ he would appreciate it if Mariel would stick to hosting on TV. He said that it would be nice if she would rise up early in the morning, go to work for a few hours, and then head immediately back home afterwards.
TV hosting for Mariel
That is why Robin hopes Mariel could soon return to hosting on TV. However, as many reports indicate, it is not clear yet if that would be possible. For several months now, the camp of the TV host has reportedly been sending feelers to ABS-CBN to accept Mariel back.
Mariel ditched ABS-CBN a couple of years ago to join Willie Revillame’s then primetime gameshow ‘Wiltime Bigtime’ on TV5. That show eventually became a noontime show and was called ‘Wowowillie.’ But it met a sad fate when it aired its last episode in October, reportedly due to high costs of operations and very disappointing TV ratings.
Asked if he would allow Mariel to get back to acting, Robin immediately and firmly said ‘no.’ But he also gave an impressive justification. He reiterated that he is a very jealous person. Robin would not feel good seeing his sweetheart hold hands with another man.
Thus, he warned that any future leading man for Mariel would not be effective. In jest, he also declared that he would scare the leading man away. Later on, he insinuated that he might do more than that, a declaration that evoked laughter among the press people.
Robin clarified that he allowed Mariel to act in their last movie ‘Sa Ngalan ng Ina, Ama, at mga Anak.’ That was because she was acting with him as the leading man.
Meanwhile, Robin is set to fly to Sweden soon with Mariel. He would be going there to do some actual research specifically about sink holes. It turns out that it would be the subject of his new project. When asked about it, Robin hinted that it would talk about same sex marriages. How he would connect sink holes with gay marriages would be the center of the film.
The planned movie would be the project to facilitate collaboration between Robin and his gay brother BB Gandanghari, formerly Rustom Padilla. It is not clear yet what the flow of the story would be or if BB has actually agreed to do it, knowing that the story may possibly point out that sink holes and calamities occur as a punishment from God regarding homosexuality.
