David Bunevacz Issues Statement About Cedric LeeThe name David Bunevacz has been dragged into the Deniece Cornejo-Cedric Lee-Vhong Navarro issue because of one reason: he, too, was allegedly a victim of Cedric's gang.
It can be remembered that David and wife Jessica Rodriguez flew to the United States and left their lives and businesses here in the Philippines because of death threats from Cedric and Tyrone Ong, who was jailed for graft.
Cedric and David were business partners in Beverly Hills 6750 Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Institute when their relationship turned sour.
In 2007, David filed kidnapping and physical injury cases against Cedric, Tyrone and his other business partners who apparently attacked him. Cedric, et al, on the other hand, filed an estafa case against his former business partners for alleging that he bought his BMW X5 from the funds of Beverly Hills 6750.
The Quezon City trial court released a warrant of arrest against David with a bail of P120,000 in August 2008 because of misallocation of funds and estafa.
David filed a counter-affidavit, saying the cases filed against him were threats made by Cedric because he also filed cases against him and his other partners.
His allegations against Cedric were brought to the public limelight again because of what happened to "It's Showtime" host Vhong Navarro, who was attacked and mauled by Cedric and his peers in a condo unit in Taguig City.
Cedric is the alleged boyfriend of Deniece Cornejo, the woman who Vhong visited in the condo unit. Deniece has recently filed a rape case against Vhong although CCTV footage showed the impossibility of such incident.
Deniece and Cedric said the CCTV footages were tampered with.
"I have heard of what happened to Vhong and Cedric and it greatly saddens me. It painfully brought back memories of our own tragic experience almost seven years ago."
Like Vhong, David said he was "was wrongfully accused, held against my will, physically violated, terrorized and death-threatened."
In 2007, David said he and Jessica decided to leave the country because they fear for their lives and the lives of their children.
Today, the former model and businessman said they have already moved on from the incident and the wounds have healed already. They were able to move on from what happened because of their deep faith in God.
"What happened to Vhong is not the first time such a crime had been committed. It is clear that evil deeds are being exposed. I pray that this will be the last time that it will happen."
David said they continue to pray that the truth about the allegations against them will be revealed in the future.
